Everton have completed the signing of Scotland international Steven Naismith who has put pen to paper on a four-year deal.

The former Rangers forward, 25, joins on a free transfer and has completed all the formalities.

Naismith has won 15 caps for his country and will join up with the rest of the Blues squad for pre-season training at Finch Farm this week.

Everton Manager David Moyes said: "We are delighted that Steven has agreed to join us. He will be an excellent addition to the players we already have and we look forward to him being fit and ready to play at the start of the season.

"He is an established international who can play in a number of positions. He has a flexibility we always like in our players and which will hopefully prove to be very useful for us."

Thats a valid point and I understand the money thing. But from a Uniteds fan point of view. He has a better chance to get in our MF, while getting paid the same (if not the same it was damn close)amount, and his younger brother is in England as well in the lowers Leagues.

Liverpool are ready to make a £12 million offer for Fulham superstar Clint Dempsey as the Reds prepare to admit defeat in their pursuit of Hoffenheim’s Glyfi Sigurddson, who seems bound for White Hart Lane.

New Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to add to his attacking options at Anfield after a lack of goals under previous manager Kenny Dalglish. The Northern Irish boss is in the market for a striker (Roma and Parma’s Fabio Borini is the main target) and an attacking midfielder who can create and get goals. Dempsey seems to fit the bill, he scored 23 goals in all competitions last season and his adaptability to play in numerous positions has improved his stature in Rodgers’ mind.

Fulham’s 29-year-old American international has been with the London club since 2007 and has almost made 200 appearances.
