I often refer to Eli as Brad Johnson 2.0.

In 5 out of his 8 seasons he's thrown 15+ INTs, including two seasons in which he's thrown more than 20. And that's including his rookie season when he threw 9 INTs in the only 9 games he played.

That's not 2010 logic, that's career logic.

EDIT: I just looked it up... Eli Has 22 more career TD passes than Rivers but he also has 51 more INTs....

I KNOW DREW BREES IS INSANELY ACCURATE (68% completions AT LEAST the past three seasons).

Eli has thrown 129 career picks.

Over the same period (since 2004), Brees has thrown 115.

If you want to knock Eli, talk about his 58% career completion percentage. But to focus solely on his picks as a reason why he blows is just silly.

I thought it was funny how during the Cowboys-Giants game Al Michaels mentioned that Eli had a great year and made the pro bowl, but Romo's passer rating was still 10 points higher than Eli's.

I think Eli's greatest strength is his durability. He plays smart and never gets hurt. I don't think he's an "elite" QB, but he is very good. Much better than Brad Johnson.

Elite: The choice or best of anything considered collectively, as of a group or class of persons.

The best of the best! Right now Eli can't even be considered as one of the top 5 quarterbacks in the league. And you can't include a guy who can't even crack the top 5 quarterbacks in his own era as one of the best to ever play the game! He's not even the best quarterback to come out of his draft class, and probably isn't the second best either.

What's going to happen in a couple years when guys like Matt Ryan, Cam Newton, Andy Dalton, and Matt Stafford all have a few seasons under their belts? Or what if Rivers or Romo end up winning a Super Bowl?

My point is that Eli hasn't done enough to clearly be considered one of the best right now, and with all of the incoming talent at the position, it's looking likely that he never will.

And that is absolutely fine by me. One person asks him if he is "Elite" and now it is a national debate....so dumb. Does anyone really put him in Brady/Brees/Godgers category......not really. The fucking dumb ass media does to spur an argument.

As a Giants fan there is only about 10 QBs I would want starting as my QB and Eli is one of them. He has proved he can win, come back in the 4th quarter, play with different receivers/TEs every year, lead his team, deal with shitty play calling, deals with the NY media, never missed a game. Just because he looks like a goofball doesn't mean he is on the field.

I am not really sure what these young kids have to do with Eli IMO.

Yes and no, because by the time it takes those guys to develop, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger and perhaps a healthy Peyton Manning, will still be around. So you're just going to be adding to the list of quarterbacks that are better than Eli Manning. Which will further move him away from being one of the best.

Let's wait for Dalton and company to actually improve before stamping them as "will be" better than Eli. And you assume that Eli won't improve like he actually has this season.

I'm no Eli fan, but he's had a very good year. He can win games and he can win playoff games. He may not be at the Brees, Brady, Rodgers, Payton level, but he's at the very next level. I know you're argument is that Eli isn't elite. But I say he is elite he same way Tony Romo is elite. The word gets used a little too often, like so many other words, that it gets a little watered down.

So, maybe we aren't disagreeing.
