I didn't even notice Dilfers name till I was done making the thread. So of course I thought I would add a comment to the mix while editing.
But I could care less about Dilfer in this. This is about the top 20 and all the other interesting remembered names in the top 100

You aren't fooling anyone.... you saw Dilfer immediately.

In his best 3 year stretch he wouldn't have been a top 16 QB this past year.

My last post poking fun at Rams. But no he wasn't obviously. But according to Rams the only qualification for being Elite is a Ring. Stats or career as a whole don't factor in.

Every once in a while there's the debate, who's better Peyton Manning or Tom Brady. Usually, it boils down to whoever you like more personally. So, I got curious about what the numbers say, and how other QBs stacked up as well. To do this, I didn't just compare eras apples to oranges, but actually took each players numbers compared to the league average. The numbers used were completions, completion %, yards, TDs, TD%, INT, INT% and rating for every QB who has 10 years of experience and at least 5 years as their team's majority starter with at least 2 years starting from 1966 or later (Super Bowl Era). These numbers were taken into consideration for each player's entire career, top 5 seasons and play offs. Numbers also considered were years in the playoffs, play off starts, play off wins, pro bowls, 1st team all pros, MVPs, 4th quarter comebacks (career and top 5) and game winning drives (career and top 5). In all, each player is compared in 34 different categories.

Looks like more than just rings.

I always see Unitas at the top of lists but I never saw him play and don't really get it...he's more of a mythical figure to me

The "experience" thing is lame considering Kaep has been to 2 NFC Title games and a Super Bowl, Wilson has a Super Bowl title, Luck has a playoff win, Newton has great seasons.. and so forth.

I had to throw out pre super bowl because of the problems with the playoffs. If I lost the play offs, Baugh would have been right in front of Brady. Otto Graham would have finished first and Montana second.

Throwing out pre Super Bowl is stupid. NFL Championship games & NFL titles before the SB existed are just as prestigious as the Super Bowl.

The NFL Title games of the early 60's that took place pre Super Bowl were more legitimate games than the early Super Bowl games, because all of the best teams were in the NFL anyway. Saying pre merger & realignment Super Bowl games carry more meaning than pre Super Bowl NFL title games is not understanding history. The league didn't start at Super Bowl I. Those pre SB Packer championships are no less important than the two Super Bowl champion Packer teams that ended up beating inferior competition anyway.
