About halfway through the list, and this made me LOL:
Poot was one of the few street level dealers to survive the duration of the show. He cut his teeth in the Barksdale crew and was best buds with “Bodie.” Poot was always more interested in girls than the game, and got burned on many occasions by both. He spent 15 months in the pokey, but rehabilitated himself by series’ end.

edit edit- finished now, and got no beefs with the top 5. There is really no other #1 IMO. I knew that's who it had to be. Stringer and McNulty were amazing, amazing characters but Omar Little is a fucking once in a lifetime character. A homosexual gangster who everyone wants to be like? Even though he's gay all the homophobic thugs want to emulate him? How can you top that?

If you have seen the entire series, go back and watch the first episode of season one. Crazy to think that behind that episode is the greatest television show ever. My wife and I watched the first episode and thought it was just going to be another cop drama, but with a little more language and violence. Popped it in again a week later for episode two and never looked back.

A part of me died inside when that series ended....a part I will never get back.

Wish I could help you there, more fans the better. But I didn't rent the seasons when I watched the show. As soon as I get the money I want to buy all 5 seasons, such an amazing show.

So I'm watching a Cold Case episode and Randy and Wallace are in it. I liked how they had Randy's character in this episode smart at black jack and all that probability stuff, just like he was with dice in The Wire.
