Im not too sure why everyone is thinking USC is at fault here... UCLA asked for it after calling the timeout. I see no problem with it. If you dont want to be scored on again, dont call a fucking timeout after the other team is kneeling to end the game.

And for those trying to talk up OSU... dont count beating PSU as a big win. PSU was terrible this year, albeit being 10-2. The Big 10 is garbage.. look at the top teams, OSU, Iowa, and PSU. The Big 10 <<<<<<< Pac 10, by a fucking mile.

USC is the 4th or 5th best team in the Pac-10 this year but still beat OSU at the Shoe.

I don't know how much of Oregon/Oregon St. you have seen, but both are really impressive and really good teams when they play up to their potential.

Anyway, we can talk more about it when we figure out the match up.

And Ohio State is a much different team than USC beat in the 'Shoe. Our offensive line has cleared the way for over 200 yards against strong defenses such as Penn State and Iowa, and Terrelle Pryor is playing good football and taking what the defense gives him. The offensive line has improved ten fold since that USC game, as has Pryor. Not trying to be a dick Omar, but have you watched Ohio State much since then?

I've watched both teams and rest assured, I know how good both are and how good both can be. I also know how good our defense is, specifically our defensive line which is the biggest part of shutting down an offense.

It's a rivalry game. That's what happens. I remember the entire Georgia team storming the field after scoring a TD on Florida just a few seasons ago. And that was in the 1st quarter.

Not to mention, USC's team was near their sideline while UCLA's team was approaching midfield. Nobody on SC was close to midfield. You are exaggerating this and spinning it to make USC look worse.

Both parties are to blame here. Should Neuheisel taken the timeout? Probably not. Should Carroll have run it up and showed a lack of class? No. I think the dumbest part is Carroll bitching and moaning at Harbaugh then going out and doing the same damn thing.

I already mentioned this. Carroll didn't bitch and moan publicly at all, he asked Harbaugh and Harbaugh only, "what's your deal?" because he didn't understand the point in going for 2 there.

And again, there is a difference between going for 2 just to say "we put 50 up on USC" and scoring a TD while the other team is taking timeouts to stop the clock and have a chance at getting the ball back. If you can't understand that then I can't help you.

And Carroll didn't run the score up on UCLA yesterday. Barkley threw the 50 yard TD pass. UCLA was taking timeouts to stop the clock and get the ball back, all Carroll does is call the play. Barkley has the option of where to go, he saw the guy wide open deep so he threw it - not Carroll.

If you are comparing how teams did this year, you have to take into account the conference they play in. Just because they are ranked 8-10 doesnt mean they are the 8th, 9th, and 10th best team in the nation... cmon now, you know how these rankings work. The schedules that teams in the B10 play dont compare to any other conferences schedules (not including the shitty ones). Put a mid-level Pac 10 team, or any other mid-level SEC/Big XII team for that matter, in the Big 10 and see what their record comes out to be. The B10 is awful.

And thank you for proving my point, I said PSU was garbage this year. The two toughest games we had this year were at home, in the valley, and we got whooped up on both times. I was at both games and it was like watching a JV team play a Varsity team. You would think the HFA would help us, but we were/are so bad it didnt even matter. PSU is severely overrated, I have no clue why we were ranked so high this year.

For those of you who can't read. Try again. Just for your sake, I hope OSU wins by 50 in the Rose Bowl.

Calling timeout really doesn't do anything...it just prolongs the inevitable. What UCLA should have done was jump offsides 1000 times in a row until Pete Carroll turned his Playstation off.

When have we spewed fucking bullshit before every important game? Most tOSU fans expected to get blown out in the Fiesta Bowl last year, and those that had any confidence (like myself) predicted a very close loss. The 08 USC game we expected to get blown out. This year against USC most of us expected to lose a close one... I mean the week before we had barely held off freaking Navy. 07 National Championship Game? We didn't even belong there, and a lot of us here were calling for a loss, I called for a close loss.

It shouldn’t.

The last six times the Buckeyes have played a team as good or better based on rankings, they’ve lost. No one has to tell the players, either.

“I haven’t led us to a big win yet,” said quarterback Terrelle Pryor, a central figure in the past three big-game losses. “The quarterback has to lead. And I haven’t led in a big game.”

Ohio State (7-2, 4-1 Big Ten) has lost its only game this year against a ranked opponent, then-No. 3 Southern California. A year ago, the Buckeyes lost marquee matchups with No. 1 USC, No. 3 Penn State and No. 3 Texas, losing to the Longhorns in the last minute of the Fiesta Bowl. In 2007, the only top-20 team they played was No. 2 LSU, which rolled over the No. 1-ranked Buckeyes 38-24 in the BCS national championship game in New Orleans.

The big-game drought started in a big way with the 2006 national title game. Ohio State came in unbeaten and No. 1 but was dusted by No. 2 Florida 41-14.

There has been more grumbling from Ohio State fans about the failings in high-profile games. Coach Jim Tressel, who could seemingly do no wrong in big games early when he started in Columbus, now is questioned about every facet of his preparation, philosophy and play-calling in the biggest games now.

“We try not to worry about the people who are talking on the outside,” tailback Dan “Boom” Herron said.

Despite the criticism and questions, the players say none of the previous losses has any effect. They say they are coming to Happy Valley ready to win.

It’s not as if Penn State has swept through its biggest games. In its only game against a top-tier opponent this season, then-unranked but unbeaten Iowa topped the Nittany Lions 21-10. Penn State closed out last season with a 38-24 loss to No. 5 USC in the Rose Bowl.

The stakes are high for both teams Saturday, with the loser most likely eliminated from the Big Ten race and a BCS bowl. It won’t get easier for Ohio State the following week, with No. 8 Iowa visiting.

“The consequences of winning or losing are obvious to everybody, but you can’t go at it that way,” coach Joe Paterno said. “We’ve got to concentrate on doing the best we can against Ohio State. It’s not going to be an easy situation for us because they are solid. We’ve got to just say, ’Let’s play it,’ ’Let’s go out there and have a little fun,’ and ’Let’s not beat ourselves.’”
