It's real simple.

Playoffs are the biggest determining factor in the debate of a HOF player or not. With good reason.

I really just don't get how over 50% of the voters can say Drew Brees is the best quarterback playing in the NFL. By saying this, that would mean they would all want him to be their quarterback.

That means, 53% of voters would rather have Drew Brees out there than Tom Brady. We can look at this weekends games alone to see who is better. Yeah, Brees threw 6 touchdowns against a Lions secondary who probably would have a hard time stopping the Oklahoma offense last year, let alone an NFL team.

Tom Brady, stepped it up and late in the fourth quarter delivered two touchdown passes to help his team win the game. One of them being an absolute strike to Ben Watson.

Hmm, a quarterback who puts up pretty numbers against probably one of the top 5 worst secondary's ever, or a quarterback who throws two touchdown passes in the closing minutes of a game to help his team to victory.

You can take your 5,000 yards 40 tds and mediocre record, I'll take Tom and his three superbowl rings.

8-1 TD INT ratio during the SB run. 3 road wins. But yeah, you're right -- it was the D and fantastic run game!

Especially our amazing 23rd ranked rush attack last year, Ben was just along for the ride! Especially that two minute drill to win his 2nd ring...

people never understand, they look at team records, rings and give way to much credit to the 1 player

you take Big Ben and say Drew Bress, when Bress has an off game the Saints get blown out, when he has an average game they might still lose

Big Ben has a bad game and the Steelers can still win, like they did in the super bowl the first time, and of course he always gets these game winning chances, the team always keeps them in the game, they rarely get blown out, he can play like crap for 3 1/2 quarters but still have a chance to win it

same thing with Tom Brady, the Pats are always in the game no matter if Brady has a good or bad game, that doesnt happen for QBs who play on average to below avergae teams, they have bad games and get blown out

The difference is, Kurt Warner didn't throw 7 interceptions in 3 games, to prevent New Orleans from not only making a divisional run, but also prevented them from making a playoff spot.

Arizona also the worst rushing team in the NFL.

Perhaps it's people like you who only look at team performances, and completely avoid seeing the mental breakdowns that players like Drew Brees/Carson Palmer has. Arizona's defense was average last year. But in the playoffs morphed into a badass squad

But above all that AZ had a +9 turnover differential in the playoffs going into the Super Bowl, while Pitt had +5. Point is that AZ defense turned into a powerhouse in the playoffs. If AZ played like the pedestrian defense they had all season long, Warner doesn't win game 1. Warner was the same in the season as he was in the playoffs. Fitz gamed up, and that D gamed up. The whole team peeked at just the right time. That's good coaching. Something Palmer, and Brees don't have the luxury of.

Playoff wins as well as season wins, are far and away more attributed to coaching than QB performance. Think...just think. :tocktock:

this has nothing to do with Kurt Warner, he is a great QB

you are the type that trashes Peyton Manning for never winning the big one, but after his team wins you praise him for finally being a winner, when in reality he was always a great QB and his defense kicked ass for the entire playoffs and he won the 'big one' to get guys like you off his back
