With just over 2 minutes left in the game and the Fins facing a 3rd and 8, Henne bombs one out to the sideline. Jairus Byrd lays the fucker out but since he was somewhat out of bounds, the ref flags me for unnecessary roughness. They get the ball on like the 20 and eventually score.

That Patrick Turner 24 yard touchdown...he was all alone with 2-3 Bills defenders. Leaps up, catches it, pops a fuckin handstand on the back of his neck and gets injured but somehow manages to hold on to the ball for the touchdown.

A clipping penalty late in the game on a 10-12 yard rushing gain by Lynch killed me as well.

Funny thing too, Lynch rushed for over 75 yards in the 1st half. Finished the game with 89.

Yeah. First I lost to them in week 3 because I couldn't get my offense going. Now my defense was just atrocious. My pass rush just really isn't getting it done lately (or this entire year for that matter.) Lots of young guys on the left side, + an aging Stroud and Maybin on the right side, who actually gets shit done.

NFC Playoff Hunt

Coming into week 17, only 2 teams in the NFC had clinched playoff berths, the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles. Additionally, no teams in the NFC had claimed their respective decisions which made for a thrilling finish to the 2011 regular season.

Here's how the NFC Playoff Hunt came to an end. Needless to say, there is a lot of unhappy teams out there right now.

The Eagles and Cowboys both sat at 12-3 in the NFC East and atop the NFC. With this week 17 win, the Cowboys claimed not only the division title for the 2nd straight year, but also cliched home field advantage. The Cowboys hope to get back to the Super Bowl, where they were defeated a season ago by the Patriots.

The Vikings were 1 game ahead of the Packers in the NFC North coming into the final week of the regular season. Vikings lost, Packers won. Both teams finished the year at 10-6. Packers held the tiebreaker and claimed the division and a playoff berth. Luckily for the Vikings, they also made the playoffs.

Drew Brees let it all out on the Bears, throwing for over 400 yards and 6 touchdowns. And while the Falcons did lose to the Colts, the Falcons held the tiebreaker to win the NFC South and more importantly, earn a spot in the 2011 postseason.

What a disappointing end to the season for the Rams. Coming into the final game of the season, they held a 1 game advantage over their NFC West division rival Cardinals. Coincidentally, they also faced off against the Cardinals in week 17. Kurt Warner and company obliterated the rams. Both teams finished the season at 9-7 but with the chips falling as they did, the Cardinals owned the tiebreaker and will be returning to the postseason yet again.​

Jauron Named NFL Coach Of The Year But Still Unsatisfied

In 2001, Dick Jauron won the NFL Coach of the Year Award with the Chicago Bears.

10 years later, in 2011, Jauron has won his second NFL Coach of the Year Award; this time with the Buffalo Bills after leading the team to their first AFC East championship since 1995.

Coincidentally, that Bears team finished the season with a 13-3 record, much like the Bills of this year.

As magical a season as the Bears had in 2001 under Jauron though, it ended on a sour note. In the divisional round of the playoffs at Soldier Field, the Bears lost 33-19 to the Eagles.

Jauron hopes to avoid this year's Bills from suffering the same fate.

"I really am flattered with the award, in particular because it was voted on by my colleagues," Jauron said. "But there is still work to be done."

After two early exits from the postseason over the past two years and Jauron currently in the last year of his contract, the pressure is on him to prove that he can coach a team to a Super Bowl.

However, even if the Bills ultimately fail in their quest to reach the Super Bowl, that shouldn't detract from what the team has accomplished. After all, who in their right mind would have even mentioned "the Bills" and "Super Bowl" in the same sentence before the season began?

And while it has been a remarkable journey for this Bills' team, you have to consider Jauron the most unsatisfied head coach in the league.

"We constantly talk to our guys about what our focus is," Jauron said. "I think we've experienced over the last few years, what occurs when you take your eye off the goal. So hopefully, with continued teaching about that, we can avoid that this year."

The Bills have a wild card round bye and will face the winner of the Titans/Steelers wild card matchup in the divisional round at Ralph Wilson Stadium.​
