I was happy they made it. They beat down the Chargers in the divisional and the Titans irked on their way to the SB. Happy Ray Lewis got his ring, same for Mcgahee.

Where Do The Bills Go From Here?

A 13-3 season. An 11 game win streak. An AFC East tile. 9 Pro Bowlers.

And nothing to show for it.

They came out early. They came out hungry. And they came out primed to celebrate. But despite a magical season that surpassed most expectations, Bills fans left Ralph Wilson Stadium disappointed.

The Bills stunning run this season came to an abrupt end after a bruising 23-20 loss to the Tennessee Titans in the second round of the playoffs.

Success in the postseason has not been a hallmark of Dick Jauron's past 3 seasons as the Buffalo Bills head coach. In fact, the only thing that has been "hallmark" is the Bills losing in the postseason over the past 3 years.

In 3 playoff games, the Bills are 0-3.

"We felt like we could and would be playing on," Jauron said. "There's all that emotion and the excitement and you're really optimistic, and then you suffer the loss and you have an exit. It's tough."

And with Jauron's contract coming to a close, one has to think that the Jauron era in Buffalo is over.

Where do the Bills go from here?

"Sometimes, to get where you want to go, sometimes you've got to experience a tough time," Bills quarterback Trent Edward says. "The other playoff losses over the past two years were tough, but this one is really hard to digest. It will stuck with guys. It should carry over into our preparation and work this offseason."

"It's like that elephant in the room. It's there. You can't pretend it's not. You learn sometimes from those things. That's the point."

And while there might be a chip on the Bills' collective shoulder, there's also a lot of confidence.

"Especially on offense, the way we moved the ball last year, I think there's lot of anxiety to get on the field and show that we can do it again."

Bills 2011 Season Breakdown (By Position) :

• Quarterback: Trent Edwards is still the main man in Buffalo. Edwards threw over 3,000 yards for his third consecutive season. Edwards improvement is noticeable as he maintained a 89.4 passer rating in 2011. Backup Tarvaris Jackson struggled with accuracy in the stints he took snaps but was productive in the Bills' playaction schemes, averaging 7.8 yards on rushing attempts.

• Runningback: Marshawn Lynch tore it up rushing for a career-high 1,710 yards this past season to go along with 9 touchdowns. Lynch's contract does expire this year but the Bills will likely sign him to a big-time extension. Fred Jackson was also a solid threat running the ball, averaging 4.5 yards a carry on the year. Fullback Quinn Johnson is becoming one of the most dominant FB's in the league, becoming an efficient blocker in the back field and rushing for 3 touchdowns on the year. Lynch and Johnson were both named Pro Bowlers.

• Wide Receiver: Lee Evans made his first Pro Bowl, catching 87 passes for over 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns. Davone Bess had another productive season. The same for the Bills free agent acquisition Earl Bennett. His production should increase in his second year on the team. Rookie Sean Wheeler also showed flashes of brilliance.

• Tight End: Shawn Nelson and Jermichael Finley were both factors in the passing game. Nelson is expected to also be re-signed to an extension this offseason.

• Offensive Line: Looking back a couple years, the Bills offensive line was bad. Historically bad and historically inexperienced. But now, this line, which blew open holes for the running game, is one of the team's best assets. 3rd year Center Eric Wood landed his first Pro Bowl selection. The trade for LT Eben Britton solidified the Bills left side. Young lineman RG Mike Kormylo and RT Lemar Springs should improve heading into next season as well.

• Defensive Line: New coordinator Ron Meeks says generating a better pass rush is a priority. Although Marcus Stroud is getting up there in age, rookie RE Mike Tolliver and sophomore DT Joshawn Parker showed they can get to the quarterback. LE Aaron Maybin led the team in sacks with 11 and made it to the Pro Bowl. Despite the obvious talent on the D-Line, they were ranked amongst the league's worst in sacks last season. A definite area that has room for improvement.

• Linebacker: Paul Posluszny, anchors the middle. LOLB Clint Ingram will return as the starter at that position with his hard hitting style. ROLB Kawika Mitchell had a sub-par season and could be on the decline.

• Secondary: The Bills secondary ranked #1 in the league in the interceptions and the Terrence Mcgee-Leodis Mckelvin tandem returned to the Pro-Bowl for the 3rd consecutive year. Cary Harris had a decent season as well as the 3rd CB on the depth chart but will likely be asking for more money than the Bills are willing to pay him this offseason. Rookie Theodore West had a solid rookie campaign and with signs of improvement in training camp, could see himself in Harris' place come next year. Safeties Jairus Byrd and Donte Whitner forced fumbles and picked off passes all year. Whitner will likely sign an extension this offseason.

• Special teams: Kicking Nick Folk gave the Bills the range and accuracy on field goals they previously lacked and earned a pro-bowl selection. Brian Moorman had another solid season. Return specialist Roscoe Parrish saw his numbers take a dip this season but managed to return to the Pro Bowl for the 3rd straight year. However, Parrish appears to have a lost a step and may not return next season if he expects a big paycheck.

• Outlook: The AFC East, was incredibly easy a season ago with the Bills being the only winning team in the division. The Bills had a noticeably easy schedule in 2011so there's really no room for regression in Buffalo. Early games in the season will set the tone as the Bills will look for the inside track to another division title.​

Bills Hire New Offensive Coordinator

After weeks of searching, the Buffalo Bills have finally found their man. They hired Bruce Arians as their offensive coordinator..

Arians, a former member of the Pittsburgh Steelers coaching staff, beat out candidates such as Clarence Shelmon (Chargers OC) and Jeff Davidson (Panthers OC).

"We really believe he's the right guy for this job," Bills owner Ralph Wilson Jr. told reporters.

Arians won 2 Super Bowls with the Steelers.

The Bills have yet to make a decision as far as Dick Jauron and the head coaching position in Buffalo goes but sources close to the team expect an announcement within the next couple of days.
