Kind of shocked by this. KC's defense is really good and when you're starting Tyler Palko, and your top rusher and QB go down this season plus the loss of Eric Berry it seems like a bit of a knee jerk reaction to a bad season coming off a 10-6 season last year.

Are there issues between Haley and management?

Yeah not sure why they made this move given the situation of the team this year. I thought Haley was doing a decent job, and got the team to overachieve last year and make the playoffs. Ive questioned his coaching in the past, like his RB useage, but it was only to protect Charles body from breaking down. I dont think this firing was warranted at all.

Scott Pioli should fire himself for trading for Cassel, drafting Tyson Jackson #3 overall, and handcuffing Haley with zero depth.

Clark Hunt can go die in an AIDS fire as well.

The timing on this is weird. I don't know why you don't just wait until the end of the season.

Haley didn't do himself any favors though by running Shane Falco out there after Cassel went down. What a fucking joke.

His pre-season conditioning strategy backfired hard as well. He put the Chiefs behind the 8 ball, and they weren't able to catch up.

It doesn't really matter who the coach in KC is as long as Hunt and Pioli feel content to go into seasons with shitty QB's, 30 mil in cap room, and the lack of depth to prove it.

If Josh McDaniels is the next coach, shoot me in the fucking face.

The Chiefs had a ton of injuries this season, and the shitty year can be blamed on that partially. But Haley has a terrible attitude about everything. During the Jets game there was a drive where they went 80 yards down the field, ALL FROM PENALTIES, one from Haley himself. This is unacceptable and I would have fired him after that bullshit display as well. He is like a petulant child, throwing tantrums when he doesn't get what he wants.

With Pioli, there have been some bad moves, definitely.. But I think the good outweighs the bad so far with the personnel. Everybody dwells on Tyson Jackson, but Eric Berry is going to be awesome, Baldwin will be excellent, Moeaki was a steal and hopefully will be good again when he gets healthy and hiring Romeo Crennel has seemed to work out pretty well as the defense is starting to get the idea (Jets game aside).. Giving Cassel as much money as he did is awful and may put the Chiefs in a bad way for the next few years, but they might as well cut their losses and go for one of these QBs in the draft.. It's gonna be rebuild mode anyway..

Going forward, I'd like to see them go after Cowher or Gruden. Gruden just signed a new deal with ESPN to do MNF, so I doubt he'd be interested in going anywhere, let alone KC.. If they hire McDaniels or Jeff Fisher, I think I'm with Blick on a suicide pact of Chief fandom. I might go bandwagon the Niners for a few years.

I'd like to see what McDaniels can do as the Chiefs head coach. He wouldn't have the same type of power to make personell decisions with Scott Pioli present. He is a very good offensive mind and the Chiefs already have a good direction defensively and a lot of offensive talent. I think that might actually be a good fit. I think McDaniels burned out in KC because of personell decisions, I don't think this would happen with Pioli present.
