I'd like to see what McDaniels can do as the Chiefs head coach. He wouldn't have the same type of power to make personell decisions with Scott Pioli present. He is a very good offensive mind and the Chiefs already have a good direction defensively and a lot of offensive talent. I think that might actually be a good fit. I think McDaniels burned out in KC because of personell decisions, I don't think this would happen with Pioli present.

As a Raider fan I'm sure you would like to see McDaniel in KC.. :shifty: No thanks..

The Chiefs had a ton of injuries this season, and the shitty year can be blamed on that partially. But Haley has a terrible attitude about everything. During the Jets game there was a drive where they went 80 yards down the field, ALL FROM PENALTIES, one from Haley himself. This is unacceptable and I would have fired him after that bullshit display as well. He is like a petulant child, throwing tantrums when he doesn't get what he wants.

With Pioli, there have been some bad moves, definitely.. But I think the good outweighs the bad so far with the personnel. Everybody dwells on Tyson Jackson, but Eric Berry is going to be awesome, Baldwin will be excellent, Moeaki was a steal and hopefully will be good again when he gets healthy and hiring Romeo Crennel has seemed to work out pretty well as the defense is starting to get the idea (Jets game aside).. Giving Cassel as much money as he did is awful and may put the Chiefs in a bad way for the next few years, but they might as well cut their losses and go for one of these QBs in the draft.. It's gonna be rebuild mode anyway..

Going forward, I'd like to see them go after Cowher or Gruden. Gruden just signed a new deal with ESPN to do MNF, so I doubt he'd be interested in going anywhere, let alone KC.. If they hire McDaniels or Jeff Fisher, I think I'm with Blick on a suicide pact of Chief fandom. I might go bandwagon the Niners for a few years.

And it's not just Tyson Jackson. That whole draft in '09 was pathetic.

That's an epic fail of a draft.

The '10 and '11 drafts look pretty good though, no doubt...but it won't matter if Pioli doesn't upgrade the most important position on the team.

And, he's a big fan of Cassel, so I have no doubt that Pioli and McDouche would ride with Cassel as their starter...or go with the cripple fight QB battle of Cassel vs. Orton.

I don't care who the next coach is...as long as they try to draft and develop a QB.

That's another huge problem I would have if the Chiefs hired McDaniels.

He would basically be a yes man for Pioli, and Pioli hasn't proven that he can build shit in KC.

That's one of the reasons why Haley and Pioli didn't get along. Haley never wanted Tyson Jackson, and was not shy about hiding his dislike for the pick.

5 out of 7 are starters. 2 out for the year this season so we don't know what they could have done. Sheffield is a very good 3-4 OLB prospect and Asamoah could be our best guard soon.

2011 Draft:

4. Allen Bailey
5. Jalil Brown oops
6. Ricky Stanzi
7. Gabe Miller
8. Jerrell Powe
9. Shane Brannon

Baldwin is going to be great. Hudson is the future at Center. Houston and Bailey will hopefully make up for past mistakes with Tyson Jackson and IMO Dorsey.. The other guys are project players drafted because the core team was pretty solid before half the team went on IR.

The first draft was awful except for Succop. Agreed. Hiring Haley was a mistake and probably done mostly to try and get Bowe in line. Cassel is a middling quarterback at best and gets exposed when the running game isn't quite there. Not anywhere close to worth the amount of money the Chiefs pay him. If they draft/sign a solid QB and don't fuck up by hiring Fisher, McDaniel or god forbid Brian Shottenheimer, I think Pioli has actually put together a solid team that could go pretty far, wasted first draft aside.

I think Haley might do better in the college ranks. Not sure if I would add McDaniels to this team as the head coach either. I think he needs another stop as a coordinator, where he actually has a chance to do something.

The Chiefs got hit with the injury bug this year to some very key players, but they don't have a receiving option behind Bowe, Cassel looked average and there isn't much depth all around. This team reminds me a lot of the Redskins from earlier last decade- a good amount of star talent but just lacking depth.

If they do indeed have $30 million in cap room sitting around......why the hell wasn't any of it used? Inexcusable.
