Just started playing. Game has a very Uncharted: Golden Abyss feel to it.

On Shipwreck Beach.

Apparently there's an instance where you can "hunt out" a region that you're in because after I murdered a boar, a seagull and a set of crabs on the beach, I got the prompt.

FeeFee the Crab may never forgive me for exploiting her for a trophy, intentional or not.

There is a trophy for crab killing? I thought there was only ones for killing a ceratin amount of birds?

Dunno if it was a specific crab (I just shot things with arrows like a sociopath for a bit :shifty: ) or just the official name of whatever the crabs are on the island (I'd assume it's the latter as they're only indigenous to the beach in the game).

The birds one I haven't gotten yet as I've only brought down crows and a seagull so far.

are you guys completing each camp by picking up all the maps/gps cache/etc
or
just blasting through the game??

i have been doing some fast traveling to a few base camps and trying to get them to 100% complete.

The optional tombs in the game that you find will give you maps of whatever area you're in at the time.

Stuff like GPS tags, hidden treasures, etc. will show up on your overworld map with question marks on them to tell you their locations.

Pretty neat for when you find time to backtrack.

To answer your question specifically, I myself am finishing the story first and then going back to get collectables... I won't skip picking something up off the ground if I see it in front of me though.

i have been doing some fast traveling to a few base camps and trying to get them to 100% complete.

I'm trying to 100% the areas before moving on, but the game has a Metroidvania style to it where you can't even access certain areas unless you obtain an upgrade later.

I'm back at Shipwreck Beach after doing the ship part. I get that crab trophy Dizzle. It's a hidden one. There are only a few of those and I'm pissed for not checking them beforehand. I just found out yesterday that one of the hidden trophies requires you to "completely chat" with all of the crew members of the Endurance. but of course it isn't somethig as simple as chatting them all up in one section of the game or even being able to fast travel back to areas. It requires you to take part in the coversations that start as early as the first minutes of the game and the last conversation is in the last section of the game. If you haven't been keeping up with it, like me because I didn't even notice any conversation options, you're screwed. You would have to completely replay the game. Pretty fucking dumb considering it's a secret trophy/cheevo. Especially since I did try some of the conversations on the beach part after finding out about the trophy and they are completely pointless. They don't give you any back story or really anything worthwhile at all. Just small talk bullshit.

So I 100%'d Shipwreck Beach and worked my way up to the new bunker. I got to the elevator/left puzzle and had to jump off for the day. I have to be near the end so I'm hoping to wraap this shiz up tommorrow.

i hit the Bunker last night myself and stopped after i had fight way through the waves of MFers.
nice gameplay......

finished game last night........
great game play.
i completed 78% of game; and got some nice weapon mods. gonna try to get most or all done before Bioshock

83% completion according to the game.

The double pistols at the end to finish off Matthias.

Very nice callback.

And with the sequel possibly being centered around the Croatoa mystery, I'm stoked to see what they do with it.

...as for the rest? I have to imagine that unless Lara killed EVERY-SINGLE-LAST-ONE of the Solarii and Stormguard on the island, a LOT of psychotics are going to find a way to leave and track down Lara and her friends. :cig:

Now I get to look forward to getting the rest of the collectables and maybe going back to the MP to see how dead the servers are now.

Very impressed with the graphics on the console with Tomb Raider. I really want to see what it looks like on the PC.

I was loving the first hour I played last nite. I miss tomb raider.

Biggest launch in Franchise History but failed to meet Square's requirement....WTF?

Crystal Dynamics' Tomb Raider had the biggest week one sales in the history of the franchise, and the most successful launch of 2013 so far.

In a GDC session attended by Jostiq, Crystal Dynamics head Darrell Gallagher outlined Tomb Raider's success, even though Square Enix revealed the game failed to meet expectations just days earlier.

"It's been the biggest week one sales in franchise history, and we're only a few weeks into that launch right now, and it's been the biggest opening so far in 2013," said Gallagher. "So, we're happy with the outcome. It's certainly in a place where we feel like we're on the road to achieving everything we wanted to.

"Certainly we're proud of what we achieved, and I think for the most part, the whole organisation is happy with what we did... Actuals and expectations, I guess, are two slightly different things. What I'm telling you is the actuals, and they're communicating expectations."

In a document circulated among its investors, Square Enix showed that the 3.4 million units Tomb Raider sold last month was lower than the company required. The figures were released to prepare investors for the company's next financial report, which will include a fiscal year loss of around $138 million, much of it attached to significant restructuring costs.

The company's performance over the last financial year, in which Sleeping Dogs, Hitman and Tomb Raider all failed to meet their internal targets, prompted the resignation of long-time CEO and president Yoichi Wada.

At the beach and I just got the COMPOUND BOW...I am ready to fuck more shit up. The reward at the end of this game should be Lara showering under a waterfall somewhere....she and those clothes have got to be funky as all hell by now.

Took advantage of the 50% PSN sale of this game about 3 weeks ago and just got around to finishing the game. 1st off I will say I don't think I have played a tomb raider game all the way through since like tomb raider 1 on PS1. I have tried a few of the other recent ones and I just felt like they were not all that good. I had a hard time putting this game down once I started playing and really enjoyed it. It definitely felt like I was playing a version of UnCharted which I absolutely love and in some instances it actually plays better then Uncharted. Not sure how this game flew as under the radar as it did for me but certainly glad I picked it up.
