Dude how is Jamaal Charles not on more of these lists. First guy in NFL history to rush for over 1100 yards on less than 200 carries. Averaged 5.9 yards per carry behind a line that allowed Larry Johnson to average 2.9 ypc.
Chris Johnson had 7 runs over 40 yards
Charles had 5 runs over 40 yards on 168 fewer carries
He's not a poor man's Chris Johnson. He can be just as good if he stays healthy. They're the same height and Charles is only 1 pound lighter. He has running away from the cops speed as well.
well...I hate to even do this because I really like the guy. I picked Charles up on three out of four of my fantasy teams this season, and he helped me to two championship games. If I were you I wouldn't complain if he's not on a top 10 list, because to me he falls anywhere from 8 to 12 on my list. Here's why.
He's that good because
All the reasons you said, and maybe some more. Plus he's a return guy, which I like.
reasons he falls out of top 10 most likely.
He had great success on maybe the easiest schedule to run the ball against.
Opponents from when he took the starting job.

He's faced off against some very weak rush defenses this season, and when he's faced above average competition he's not done well. That's not to say I don't think he can do well against an above average run D, look at Cinci. I don't have any reason to believe that Charles can put up those number throughout the course of a 16 game season, not yet anyways. I hope to be surprised by him next year though. Right now, I see his great success was build on the backs of sub-standard run D's, so in my mind that takes away something from his thunder.
