Ariza played extrememly well, he's gonna have a good career, i think imahussla said his game resembled scottie pippen's, and i agree. Dude is very dynamic, he can do everything very well.

I can see T-Mac getting traded for someone younger, maybe the Cavs will come a knocking, they sure can use him

With the Artest signing it will be interesting to see what Odom does, because Artest has been an object of the Lakers affections for some time now and Odom's name was always dangled as trade bait.

Back to Ariza, I'm actually surprised he only got the MLE, because I just knew some team was going to throw a big contract his way. At the price though Ariza is a good signing. He's a good defender, a strong transition finisher and can hit the open 3. If he puts some time to improve his ball handling he maybe a good transition piece from the McGrady era.

Ariza's got the work ethic to develop his offensive game a lot. Two years ago he couldn't knock down the three ball to save his life. Now he's a real good open 3-point shooter. He's got the power to finish at the rim. Could be something of a Rudy Gay (just a little below Rudy) on offense in 3-4 years if he keeps working as hard as he does. Couple that with his defense, you've got a pretty good second or third star for your team.

exactly, and the only way he becomes that star is by signing with a team who have the following:

1) Big star who is injured
2) Big star who is aging
3) No stars

Seems to me that the Rockets have T-Mac and/or Yao leaving in the next two seasons
 
I guess he got tired of winning. He WANTS to become a star, but he is nothing more than a really good role player. He was a James Posey to our team what he was to the Celtics. He did play well, but that happens when you have stars all around you. He will not play well in Houston.

He's also one of those guys who is motivated to prove people wrong. This is why he's developed from simply being a run and jump athlete in New York to the player he is today. I'm sure the Lakers choosing Artest over him will fuel him to want to be even better.

People get off this "He's selfish, he wanted money over winning" BS. The Lakers chose Artest over him and that is basically it.

Dude was garbage when he played for the Knicks. I was thinking he was going to be out of the league in 2-3 years. Then he went to the Lakers and proved me (and most likely 25 million people) wrong.

I'm not making him out to be a star. Imo, at best he's going to be a great complimentary player for a team with a star or two stars, but I think that's leaps and bounds better than what anyone thought he could be 2 years ago.

Thier top 3 players are gone, or will be gone by the start of the season. Not good for Houston. It's going to be a long time before they're even legit contenders again.
