Kimbo is no Brandon Vera either. Couture fought his fight, but he didn't seem as quick or explosive in this fight which is one reason why I think he really relied on that clinch game so much. Usually he uses the clinch to setup other things, dirty boxing, takedowns, wear his opponent down then work his boxing. Didn't really see that from him tonight tho, he looked pretty sluggish overall.
Seeing that he's fought the exact same way his entire career (1. Go for takedown, 2. Clinch. 3. Repeat), I'd say that Dana gives him a pass on it because he has the fanbase.

outside of the main event snoozer, i thought it was pretty good overall. i think hardy proved he deserved a title shot, and for all the hate bisping gets he is a great fighter.

Good card. M.E was meh. Not sure what Brandon Vera thought he did that deserved the win. He landed 4 damaging blows in the fight...did virtually nothing the rest.
Anyone else get the feeling Randy was gonna call a timeout after he got hit in the ribs ? His posture looked like it.
Hardy is fun to watch. Swick is too but Hardy wasnt effected despite getting hit alot.
Credit to Bisping. When hes not an obnoxious snot hes easy to root for. Good showing.
What was up with Andre trying to puff his chest after the follow up shots ? Hes a weirdo .

lol @ Randy winning that 'fight', I picked Vera to win but was routing for Randy, but Randy did nothing to win that fight, nothing, pushing someone against the cage is not octagon control, its stalling
Zero takedowns from all that clinching, the only big damage from that fight was Vera folding Randy over and than in the 3rd Randy had 1 flurry, but Vera had a TD, mount and a couple shots at the end, Randy never looked to do anything, it was brutal
Vera should have gotten the decision
Swick needs to go back to 185, he just looks so sucked up, head is like an alien now, Hardy will bring nothing to GSP, Alves, Fitch and even Kos are better fights

whether you think hardy deserves a shot or not its irrevelant. the ufc has been pushing the UK market so hard and now they finally have an opportunity to have a brit fight for a title. they have been waiting for this forever. i dont think they could of pushed bisping any harder then they did and he was one dan henderson right hand away from getting a shot.

The Vera/Couture fight just sums up so many problems with MMA scoring in the states, one guy stops the other guy from doing what he wanted to do, Vera stuffed almost every TD attmept, Vera got the a TD and mount and landed the only damaging shot of the fight and still lost because a guy pushed him into the cage for the majority of the fight
Not saying Vera did anything special or beat up Randy, but I really dont know how guys win decisions like when they do nothing but press you up against the cage, you keep giving guys decision wins like this and thats what they will keep doing

I have no real issue with relatively undeserving challengers getting a title shot. The only time I don't like it is when the UFC hypes said challenges as truly top fighters who earned their shot, when its obviously not really true... but that same process is also necessary. Ah well.
thats fine, I dont think Swick or Hardy deserve a shot, but someone has to get it I suppose
GSP said his dream fight was with Jake Shields, I'm sure Dana loved that, lol
