LAS VEGAS – Chael Sonnen, Nate Marquardt, Paulo Thiago, and Matt Serra each earned $60,000 fight-night bonuses for their performances at Saturday's "UFC 109: Relentless" event.

Sonnen and Marquardt both earned "Fight of the Night" honors, while Thiago earned the "Submission of the Night" bonus and Serra earned the "Knockout of the Night" award.

Man, did Coleman look like he didn't belong. What a terrible main event. The fans got behind it because of the name value and the hype, but really, that was a poor choice by the UFC. Would've been so pissed to have paid for that...

Im still kinda shocked by the Sonnen/Marquardt fight, I've always thought Sonnen was a good, well rounded fighter, but he just steamrolled the #2 MW in the UFC

I thought he was a monster in WEC but i figured it was just because of the competition he was facing. I still dont think he can hang with Silva, probably not even Belfort so i dont know why were getting excited

anyone else find comments like this just flat out stupid? just watch the card then make your judgment. any card has the ability to be great, and any card has the ability to suck. i hate this whole well theres no big names on the card so its gonna be bad, like you can just automatically assume its going to be bad cause it isnt being headlined by bj penn or spider silva. is it worth 40 bucks or however much its going to cost? dont know and dont care.

I wasnt wrong about my assessment either CG :kickballs: I've enjoyed fight night cards with far lesser names than they had on this card. This one exceded expectations but lame main events destroy shows for me usually. Outside of "top of their game" superstars it seems the first few fights outshine the main events much of the time anyway so its a toss up.

coleman was a bum no doubt, but watching sonnen dominate nate was a thing of beauty. and lol @ considering mark coleman a big name anymore. yeah hes a hall of famer but to compare his popularity to someone like lesnar or gsp is laughable.

Rolles Gracie gassed on the undercard and was pounded out. Sounds like it was a close one between Tim Hague and Tursherehehreer, with the crowd and Joe feeling like Hague was robbed. Have the prelims downloaded, about to fire it up myself

You think Sonnen and Nate are so much better than hendo, Jacare, Lawler, Shields, Khalidov, etc...?

Styles make fights and its all about the fight, not the logo on the mat

How about Tito & Coleman working the marks, and setting up a money fight? Two guys who "get it", Tito is great and Coleman was smart enough to jump on it. Who knows, they may have set that shit up.

Yeah I dont buy it either.

Coleman/Tito has to happen now, and there is no reason it cant be a strong semi main or the top fight in a weak month. I think it can draw. That confrontation will ultimately turn out to be the only memorable thing that happened on this show.
