Rampage coming out to the Pride theme was friggin awesome.
Best intro surprise ever.

Machida was robbed though. The few seconds when Machida went for armbar and you knew that slam was pending was the best few seconds of suspense in a long time. Great moment. Really REALLY wanted to see one guy or the other finish after that pace picked up in the 3rd.

Well if your going to award fights to guys who take someone down and sleep on them all day its pretty retarded not to give it to the guy was was tagging ,jabbing, kicking and was never in any danger. He controlled the tempo the distance and clearly won the first and 3rd. Wildy chasing and throwing heymakers doesnt make a win. Once again Rampage thinks its boxing and refuses to do anything else.

Being in the center of the ring shouldnt be automatic points.
UFC might as well just give the "beefy" guy a 2 point head start every match.

Rampage landed no strikes I dont think either guy guy landed a remotely clean fist first 2 rounds. Everything was chest and neck.Closes thing to "landing" were two uppercuts one didnt land the other did no damage then Machida threw a left that knocked down Rampage but that was more of a push and slip than a punch.

Rampage spent more time against the fence than Machida who easily reversed him and stood up immediately the first and only take down in 2 rounds

Controlling distance , landing leg strikes , being just as aggressive ,reversing position >>>> sitting in the middle of the ring throwing heymakers to the air and initiating clinches which end up with your back on the cage.

Im not sure where KOF is coming from here, this is pretty much exactly how it went down.

Machida was too passive in the first 2 rounds, while I understand that he is a counter striker, STRIKING is still an essential part of that. Rampage was more much more agressive and was landing more significant shots. The only thing Machida was workly effectively in the first 2 rounds was some leg kicks. Rampage also had cage control for a decent amount of time in both rounds. While they werent dominant, I think it was clear that Rampage had won both.

Just about all of the leg kicks were checked, it wasn't like he was breaking Rampage down with the kicks like Griffin was able to do. The uppercut Rampage landed coming out of the clinch in the first round definitely landed flush and knocked Machida's head back. It didn't daze him, but that doesn't mean that it wasn't a good clean strike. He also had some nice counter shots, the hook to the temple wasn't too bad, and overall he had Machida running, meaning he was the aggressor and controlled that round. The only good shot Machida landed was the knee, which was partially blocked. So I don't see what Machida did to win the first round. Control the distance? lol that doesn't win you a round in MMA.

I watched it twice today I suggest you people do the same. There was no punch of significance landed by either guy. 2 halfway clean shots landed..one by each.
Its ridiculous Machida goes 11 fights never losing a round with the exact same style and same results but you guys now think hes losing rounds doing it ?
Machida HELD RAMPAGE AGAINST THE CAGE more often then Rampage did those two rounds. Just because he initiated he wins on points ?

Once again just like laying down on a guy , leaning on a guy shouldnt be worth a shit on points. Bringing a guy down for him to bounce right back up ONE time doesnt make a winning round.

Machida was far more active and did as he please. Rampage couldnt catch him , couldnt hold him , and got popped and almost subbed in the 3rd.

Shoguns draw makes infinitely more sense than a rampage win.

Theres no justification for Rampage winning those 2 first rounds.
