The Steeler chants through the boring fights cracked me up. The Pirates receive the same treatment whenever they're stinking it up. Gotta love Steeler nation.

Does anyone know what these Fight Night cards usually pull? Sounds like they only sold 7k tickets here, which seems pretty light. A local show did 10k, before the UFC tried to run them out of business with a law suit. But, with those numbers it doesn't seem like they'll be back in Pittsburgh anytime soon.

And lol @ Dana saying this was one of their best cards. I don't see why you would want people to think that this was the UFC's best offering.

Yeah I found out, I actually found out on Thursday and all I have to say is honestly, from what I saw here this evening and the way things have been handled so far, the Pennsylvania Athletic Commission is the best commission in the United States. Seriously, the way that these guys handle things and the way that things have been done during the fight, before the fight, etcetera, etcetera.

The thing that's going on with Nate Marquardt, Pennsylvania laws are unfortunate that the commission can't come out and announce medical records or medical situations with fighters but I think it's pretty clear to the fans and everybody else that I'm pretty disgusted with Nate Marquardt.

He's been cut from the UFC. He won't fight in the UFC ever again. So gotta follow these guidelines with the health and blah blah blah blah blah, bottom line is what Nate Marquardt did is bad enough to be cut from the UFC....He didn't pass his medicals, you know what I mean?

It's the way it has to be said here because of the laws and the health and the this stuff. You guys know me, you know how I operate. Before anything was said, he's cut, he's done with the UFC. I'm disgusted with him and he has no business fighting in the UFC...I would say the exact opposite. Nate Marquardt has done some things and I'm one of these guys that gives everyone a second chance. We all make mistakes...Nah listen, we all make mistakes, people make mistakes, we're human. It's gonna happen. It's how you handle it.

Nate Marquardt is a nice guy, he's a sweet heart, always says the nice things and is a nice guy. But you know, being nice and acting nice and doing the right thing are two different things...

This is one of those situations where because of the laws in the state of Pennsylvania, Nate Marquardt is gonna have to man up and come out and tell the world why he didn't pass his medicals. He's gonna have to man up and tell the world why he didn't pass and when he does, I think everybody will understand why he was cut from the UFC...

I dunno. You guys see when Nate Marquardt decides to come out and talk to every body and if he does or if he doesn't. Whatever happens, I know there's always things out there about me where I can be too whatever but if you really look at how I've treated people and treated fighters over the last 10 years, I give a lot of guys chances and I know that everybody makes mistakes and Nate Marquardt has been one of those guys.

So for me to come out and say that he's never gonna fight in the UFC anymore, it's gotta be pretty serious. It's not because Nate and I had some problems, you know? Otherwise, if that was how I felt about Nate Marquardt, would he be headlining a show on Versus? Would he be in the position he's in in Welterweight or Middleweight division? No. I've had a good working relationship with Nate Marquardt.

Someone from the underground who claims to have talked with someone who would know...

He got busted for Testosterone Creme by the commission. He got hooked up with the creme by a doc in Denver. The commission busted him and thats why Dana was so pissed and cut him because he got busted for PED's.

Still not sure why this warrants firing him or how Marquardt needs to get whatever cleared whenever he can to get off the suspension list. Something doesn't make sense.

What was with Pat Barry being so sloppy in trying to finish Kongo? You'd think a K1 level striker could've finished the job. The multiple punches he was landing on Kongo post knock down should've been enough but he just seemed so sloppy during that flurry.

Keep in mind that he didn't fail any drug tests. So, I'm not sure how the PSAC would find out about any illegal drug usage, if he didn't test positive for anything. To me it sounds like something frivolous that he failed to do. Something so simple there's no excuse for. Otherwise, I can't see Dana firing someone the way he did.

Dana's anger and word choice points to it being a pretty serious matter. Hard to believe it would be any kind of steroids/performance enhancing, as he never seemed to be so pissed about kicking other people out for similar offenses. Should be interesting.

Long story short... Marquardt was experiencing health problems within the past year and doctor's diagnosed him as having low testosterone levels, so he went on replacement therapy. I think he said he was on it since the Palhares fight and took the necessary tests and passed them. So he went off and on at various times. He went back on less than a month before the Story fight, was told he needed to get his levels at a certain point to fight and didn't.

So Dana got pissed and fired him because he fucked up and didn't get his levels correct in time to fight.

He had low testosterone and 'was a candidate' for replacement therapy and his doctor said to go back on the treatment 3 weeks before the Story fight.

Says his mistake was not getting blood tests earlier, he got blood tests 2 weeks after being on the substance. Says he took a test on weigh in day and it was above the range that the PSAC would've allowed him to fight. Said Sunday the test came back within the normal range.

Nate has someone with him, it's his manager.

He said he talked with the PSAC head today and he's met the requirements to get the suspension lifted. Apparently, the PSAC will have a board meeting later in the week with doctor's to officially take him off the list.

He's fighting back tears lol talking about having to take responsibility for being a main eventer.

Essentially, his body stopped producing enough testosterone to the point that his health was negatively effected.

Reasons as to why testosterone stopped being produced to that point is anyone's guess. Whether steroids were involved at any point, who knows. It could just be one of those things. :SHOCKED:

It means he was taking steroids, but exceeded the testosterone levels allowable for whatever his baseline was. In other words, you are allowed to take doctor prescribed steroids for hormone replacement, but only enough to get you body back to normal levels.

This was the excuse Sonnen was trying to use, except he didn't even have proper documents that allowed him to use.

Take one guess why Dana would fire/ban one guy, and not the other.

Maybe if fighters weren't constantly putting their bodies through hell and back by trying to cut absurd amounts of weight they wouldn't experience symptoms such as sluggishness, no energy, poor memory, etc.
