Dunno, seems unfair. Mark of the Ninja was one of the better games I played this year. Super Meat Boy is one of the best games of this generation. The Arcade is hardly a place for simple games, just usually more indie, less expensive, or shorter (hence the price).

Yeah, one MS only slightly supports (Arcade) the other they just douchetastically ignore (Indie).

Lots of games on that list, but I'm not wowed by any. I think that's largely due to the fact that the two that I think I'd enjoy the most, Dishonored and Far Cry 3, I haven't played yet. As such, I voted for XCOM because I've had a blast slaying aliens. Are there some things I wish had been done better? Sure. But nothing was better than rolling the perfect critical sniper shot to save your team

CS:GO and Crusader Kings 2 (even though I am the worst ruler ever. Like, I am not usually bad at games, and this game DESTROYS me) were the other 2012 releases I sunk a decent amount of time in to

Also, Diablo 3. That was a Day 1 release for me (I don't do a lot of those) and it was a giant let down. I think that I let a lot of the negativity in the community get to me, as I was enjoying it OK, but not like D2. I have Torchlight 2 installed and want to get in to that because I love Torchlight 1. It did everything I want from that genre while avoiding all the shit D3 brought

Same.. I was really enjoying the game personally and then they nerfed attack speed increases and opened the RMAH and I haven't played for months.

Borderlands 2 without a doubt. No other game makes me want to play through it several times, especially when a single run through takes at least 40ish hours to get through everything. Challenges CoD4 and Halo 2/3 as my favorite game ever.

I'd have to respectfully disagree with SMB being one of the best games of this gen. Man did I think that game was overrated as fuck. Just one of those media darlings.

I have a strong feeling that FC3 my be a strong contender and could possibly supplant Borderlands 2 for me. Vaas seems like such an awesome villain, the game looks gorgeous, there is so much shit to do, and that's just the single player. I probably won't play much of the mp, if at all, but the co-op is just icing on an already delectable cake.

Well, the very fact that you can respectfully disagree instead of claiming I have terrible taste because I love the game just shows we're making progress. If you love difficult, old school platformers, I think SMB is hard to top. I put a shitload of time into that game and loved every minute of it (when I wasn't screaming and threatening to break things). There were few games I found as rewarding as it this generation, which is why I would rank it so high.

I really want to play FC3. It sounds like a blast. Have you listened to this weeks Bombcast though? It's so strange, because Brad gave it 5 stars, but the review itself has a LOT of complaints, and then in the Bombcast they have a pretty intense bitch session about it. I guess most of it is just that the story is a letdown, but still, it was weird to listen to. Regardless, I loved FC2, and this sounds worlds better than that, so I'm on board.
