I don't find it odd at all. Garrett had the title of Assistant HC/OC but he barely talked to the D at all. He didn't agree with much of the things Wade did or how he ran the team, but he did respect the chain of command and understood no good could come of him undermining him, especially in Dallas where the media is constantly looking for any sign of turmoil.

BTW, more stuff that's coming out that is downright infuriating to me.

It's no wonder the team had no sense of urgency about it. It has to be a small miracle shit didn't completely fall apart sooner.

This isnt a team of Randy Mosses but you have to worry about how easily this team quit on Wade.

Time period is now to weed out the bitches.

I will say Im going to watch Garrets playcalling like a hawk. Im eagerly awaiting the I told ya so card I can play if the offense suddenly looks balanced and smart.

I'll ask this. Who screwed who? The defense over the last few years has not held up its end of the bargain. They've been one of the worst at generating turnovers under Wade. Last year was the only year they were top 10 in points allowed under him. The offense constantly has to start with a long field, meaning they have to either hit the big play or have long, sustained drives, which is hard for any NFL team to do.

Now imagine trying to do that with one of the worst lines in football and a group which constantly shoots itself in the foot with bonehead penalties and mistakes that you want to correct, but cannot because the "guy in charge" doesn't believe in running the play over and over again until the team gets it right.

Even with those problems, to constantly be among the league leaders in yardage (albeit not points), is a hell of an accomplishment.

I'm glad you feel that way. I hope the offense can actually execute a little better.

Meh. I don't see us winning Sunday. Can't turn this thing around in a week. I do hope to be competitive in the game, however (maybe someone on defense will actually have the balls to give Eli a good "clean" hit in return for what happened to Romo - I'm looking at you, Sensabaugh)

As far as the defensive play calling, again, Garrett tried like hell to bring in a certain guy who's now calling the defense in Green Bay. Just sayin.

Based on what I know about Garrett, you're flat out wrong on that point. Not only has the "swagger" been minimal (big difference to me between false bravado and swagger) As far as his demeanor, I'm not saying he's gonna be Vince Lombardi, all fire and brimstone. He will, however, unlike Phillips, hold players who don't give maximum effort accountable.

You're basing too much of your opinion on him on his playcalling, and let's face it, he's known for two years now that he's been handicapped by that offensive line. I've said before I think he'll eventually be a solid HC in the league. Don't know if that time is now, but if it's not, he fails, and we bring in someone else next year. We're not losing a damn thing giving him the job now and an opportunity to prove himself.

But above all else, you need to understand that the way he wants to run things could not be more different than the way Wade did.

And if I'm wrong? Again, someone better suited replaces him.

If Gerrett has some success, could this work against Jerry? Would this lose Jones the option of going after a proven HC?

And, I'm wondering if that's the reason Minny has not made a coaching change. If Frazier(SP?) has any success, Wilf would lose his coaching options for next year and have to stay with Frazier. Is Wilf not making a change so he can go after a bigger name coach?

I doubt any owner keeps hold of a stupid coach because they're afraid the interim guy would succeed.

From what I've read, the main reason Childress is still in power is b/c Wilf didn't want to pay him the $10 million or whatever he's owed. And even if the players hate him, they haven't quit on the field.

My bad. I could have sworn you were one of the many Dallas fans blaming and bashing Garrett for all of the Cowboys issues over the last couple of seasons.

Actually, I'm 100% positive you were calling for his head a few times in the chatbox because of his playcalling. But I never saw you're post about him as a HC.

Either way, one game means nothing.

The fact that the Cowboys looked like a completely different team in terms of effort just because of their OC was promoted to HC is somewhat embarrassing and disgusting, if true.

I just think the Giants were due for a let down and a loss moreso than Garrett firing up the Cowboys. But only time will tell on that.
