Just got back from the game.
Atmosphere was awesome, crowd was nuts. Best effort I've seen in quite a long time from the Raiders, they looked like a much better team but still had a few Raider moments from time to time.
Chaz Shilens' injury really hurt us tonight. JR is horribly inaccurate and he has two rookies starting at wide receiver to boot. Miscues, timing was off, , dropped balls and JR's inaccuracy killed the Raiders offense every time it got going. The running game looked great but it can only take you so far when your passing game is so bad.
I am done with JR until proven otherwise. He is so horribly inaccurate that I don't even think it can be fixed at this point. I actually was hoping he'd stay out so Gradkowski could stay in, he looked much more accurate in the 3 passes he completed than any of JR's 12.
Richard Seymour is an absolute monster. This guy is a beast out there and sticks out like a sore thumb on the field amongst all the other football players because of his raw physical power and size. I never thought that 1 guy could change an entire defense until tonight. I saw Seymour single handedly change the face of the Raiders defense tonight.
Terrible defensive playcalling on the Chargers winning TD drive. 4 man rush with man to man coverage gave Rivers way too much time to hit crossing routes or dump off to Sproles. Then Gates gets 10 on a 3rd and 1, why the fuck is nobody in Gates' face?? God fuck.
The loss was disappointing because I wanted that win so badly but I'm not that upset about it because I really thought the Raiders would get blown out like the last two times I've watched them open up on Monday night.
Funny how everyone was so ready to just hand the division over to the Chargers until tonight.
