Although I wasn't one of those bitching bout that (I agree with seperate game threads), but it does help that tonight is the NFL Season Opener and on Primetime National league.

True, but you never know if a "shitty game" will be highly interesting. 1 thread wouldn't be fun to post in.

I'm anxious to see what happened to Polamalu.

Well I turned on ESPN and they were doing the post-game conference with Mike Tomlin and he said so far it's an MCL Sprain (3-6 week injury), but they'll have concrete evidence tomorrow after an MRI.

And another thing, our special teams really made this game a contest. I can't remember the Titans starting outside of their 15 yard line all game. And Logan did pretty good as our return man, glad he could find a way to stay on the roster.

What's more, after Troy went down it looked like they were determined to take it to the air down the middle. Laboe did a very good job of containing the Titans the best he could at this piont. Props to him, again.

Overall this was a complete team win.

It didn't look good at all. 3-6 weeks is way to long to lose a Troy Polamalu.

If I was Fitzgerald I would be shaking in a corner. It's only a matter of days until he gets his due. The Madden course is ridiculous.

Coulda been alot worse sir. Was just telling my dad (Steelers fan), just be glad it happened at the beginning of the season and not towards the end.

He was walking "gingerly" as al michaels put it. I hope he takes all the time he needs, it looked like his knee didn't actually bend too bad, I thought it looked more like his groin would have pulled, on that play. I think he'll be back in 3 weeks though, it didn't look too bad.

Slimdale did nothing at all, but CJ had some very nice runs. Collins, besides the pick by Polamulu, played himself a good game.

Yea Britt looked like money that game. Gage better get his ass in gear and start catching some footballs otherwise it won't be too long till Britt takes his job and that #1 spot in Tennessee.

I have never liked Gage, dude drops way too many passes. Washington didn't get to make much of an impact because he was hurt.

Missed Bo Scaife after he left, that's for sure. Crumpler and Stevens are definitely not the same.

Ok we got Chicago in Chicago next week. Tough matchup without Troy. Cutler could murder us. I'm not scared of Forte but the play action off the run is what scares me without Troy.

Next is Cinn, not scared here, rest well Troy.

San Diego is another game we have to have Troy to win, but don't push yourself to get back by now Troy.

Detroit then Clevelan, not a big deal.

Don't get me wrong, you never want to look past a team, but I'm looking at the next 5 games and I think we can get 3 to 4 wins without Troy, so there's no hurry.

Even looking past that we have the Vikes in week 7, a bye, then Denver, Cinci, and KC before Baltimore. So if he were out for an extended period of time I don't think it's unreasonable to think we could end up 8-3 or better before Baltimore in week 12.

Baltimore is obviously our toughest foe in the North, so if we can enter that game with a smooth 7-4/8-3 it looks good for our playoff chances. I'm not that worried about Troys injury after looking at our schedule again.

PITTSBURGH -- Steelers safety Troy Polamalu injured his left knee late in the first half of Thursday night's season opener against the Tennessee Titans and was ruled out for the rest of the game.

Polamalu was injured when Titans tight end Alge Crumpler fell on him as Steelers defensive end Aaron Smith blocked a 31-yard field-goal attempt by Rod Bironas with about three minutes left in the half. Polamalu was attempting to pick up the ball.

There was no immediate word about the severity of Polamalu's injury, but he didn't immediately leave the field for medical treatment. As he left the sideline, Polamalu appeared to gesture as if the injury wasn't serious.

Before he was hurt, Polamalu made a one-handed interception and led both teams in tackles with six.

A two-time All-Pro safety, Polamalu has been chosen for the past five Pro Bowls. He is considered one of the NFL's premier defensive players.
