LOL -- did you even watch the game? When the Eagles ran the wildcat, they were effective for the most part. This was not the reason they lost the game. Bad defense and turnovers is why they lost.

I don't think the Eagles can rely on the wildcat as much as they did today to win (and they won't when McNabb comes back), but it will be a great thing to have when Vick is activated and they can add a different wrinkle by having a true passing threat from it (cue Vick QB joke here). It's definitely something they can use to pick up yards as they shown today. It'll be even more effective when they use it in the future because they won't be using it as much so it can really throw defenses off. I'm excited to see it.

Man I hate the damn Saints but i give credit where its due and they damn offense fire as hell cant wait til Week 8 Saints vs Falcons on Monday Night!

As a Saints fan, I naturally hate the Falcons. But I have a feeling both Saints-Falcons games this year are going to be epic. It's one of the most underrated rivalries in the NFL.

Before the season started I figured our teams would battle it out for the South, and nothing has happened to change my opinion.

Looking like the start to a fun season.

It was the only drive they centered around it, it played no part in the reason why they lost the game.

It's not and won't be a central part of this offense, especially when McNabb comes back. They did some different things today because they HAD to because Kolb alone wasn't going to score enough to win this game. Also, you say just attack the ball carrier, but you can't do that when Vick is running it because he is a legit threat to throw the ball. Whether or not he's an effective passer doesn't mean you can just disregard his passing ability.

What you said in your second statement is just echoing what I said and what you should've just posted that from the beginning. Not even sure why, of all the things that the Eagles did wrong today, that you chose the wildcat as your point of attack.

Stick to figure skating because football clearly isn't your sport.

2 things. the wildcat was effective at times, but i think reid got a little too gimmicky with the option toss crap. they got a handfull of yrds most of the time so you cant argue it didnt work. if the saints defense continues to press the qb, and create turnovers like they have, no one will keep up with their offense.

So far, the Saints have faced the Lions, who haven't won a game since 1987, and Kevin Kolb. And in both games, they gave up a ton of points. Neither game was a blowout until mid 4th Q or so.

If those two teams can "keep up", I would think some of the better teams around the league can.

You ever see Drew Brees trailing late, W2B? It's not pretty at all.

However, Philly's D was really exposed last postseason, by a much better quarterback, so this doesn't surprise me. I would have been more impressed if a healthy McNabb was in, but a win is a win, so you can't take that away from the Saints. Plus, it's not their fault McNabb is hurt.

I'll go with 10-6, first round loss.

New Orleans is not better than a healthy Philly.

I mean, honestly, did any of us think Arizona would make it? I'm not all that impressed with the NFC.. New York seems to be the team we expected, Green Bay has to be the biggest disappointment so far, even with the win against Chicago, I'm not sure how long Favre can go before he breaks down, Arizona has a banged up QB, I'm not sold on SF, and Chicago, well, they have Jay Cutler. Philadelphia was the biggest threat coming into the season, so we'll see if McNabb can get back in time to keep things from breaking down completely.

And of course, a quarterback who saves his best for last.. Take the Philly game last postseason, McNabb pretty much torched Arizona's defense, and if Kurt Warner doesn't play perfect football, I doubt 'Zona plays in that superbowl. If Brees' can do this, superbowl certainly isn't out of reach.

Lol Palmer is a tool who had the talent to be really good but ended up being like Joey Harrington. This Saints team honestly reminds of those Colts teams in the early 2000's. Able to produce ridiculous amounts of offense but the defense is suspect. I can see the improvement in the defense this season but I don't know if it will be enough to make a true run in the playoffs
