Terrance Williams lines up a three​

The Knicks who haven't won two in a row all year figured to have a good chance against the Nets with them missing the injured Devin Harris but Terrance Williams and Sean Williams rained on their parade. Behind T. Williams 22 points the Nets cruised to a 112-81 laugher. Point guard Rafer Alston continuously penetrated the Knick defense dishing out 13 assists. Even Kenyon Dooling got into the assist party finishing with 10. Everything the Knicks did right in their win over the Pacers seemed to be forgotten in this game as they played horribly. The Nets even cheesed NY by scoring 70 points in the paint. NY wasted another subperb game by the emerging Wilson Chandler who dropped a game high 28 points, including 4/7 from three point land. David Lee led all rebounders with 17.

D'Antoni To Shake Up Lineup
Duhon to be inserted into starting line up, Hughes minutes cut​

New York - Looking to give his scuffling team a bit of a new look, Knicks head coach Mike D'Antoni announced that Chris Duhon would start in place of the inconsistent Nate Robinson. While Robinson was averaging 7.3 apg, he was struggling mightily with his shot, shooting just 30% from the field and 16% from downtown. Robinson was also something of a defensive liability as the bigger guards would just shoot over the 5'9" dimunitive guard.

"Nate has been struggling a bit so I wanted to give him a chance to bring his energy off the bench," said D'Antoni. I wasn't seeing the normal aggressiveness he usually brings to the game when he was starting at the point. This is in no way as saying I'm down on Nate, I just want to give him a chance to get back on track and I feel this is the best way. Chris is more comfortable at handling the point guard duties, and we'll let Nate do his thing as the guy who brings scoring off the bench."

D'Antoni also said Jared Jefferies would begin to see more minutes, probably meaning less time for Larry Hughes or Danilo Gallinari. "We've been getting torched defensively, particularly by the opposition's guards and forwards. Jared brings the defensive intensity we're lacking right now and he can guard multiple positions." While Robinson took the news in stride, he clearly feels he should be starting when he said, "Whatever coach wants and what's best for the team. But I think of myself as a starter in this league. Clearly I'm not playing well right now, but I have confidence that I'll get back on track and force the coach to make a tough decision down the road."

You could almost see this coming as NY has struggled to stop anyone all season. While Jeffries isn't a big scorer, the Knicks don't need that from him as they have plenty of players who can fill it up. Instead they need Jeffries to defensively clamp down on the other team's star and rebound. D'Antoni also hinted that the barely used Darko Milicic and Eddy Curry would also start to see more time.

Pierce turns back the clock in a vintage performance

You can add Chandler to the list of victims who have fell victim to Pierce's patented fadeaway​

This would be the first game that Knicks point guard Chris Duhon would start this season and he did his best to make coach D'antoni look like a genius. Duhon played his ass off finishing with 23 points and 18 assists as the Knicks played Boston even for about three quarters, but Paul Pierce made sure his team did not get upset. Pierce overshadowed Duhon's performance by dropping 37 points in Boston's 105-95 win. NY tried a bevy of defenders on Pierce including Jared Jeffries who played 33 minutes, but PP torched them all. Pierce was helped out by Ray Allen who had 21 and Rashard Wallace who added 17. NY trailed by only four points entering the 4th quarter but the Celtics would put the game away behind the hot shooting of Pierce. Duhon who also went 5/7 from three, had 8 turnovers, the only blemish on his night. Although Jeffries couldn't stop Pierce, he had 13 rebounds off the bench.

The up and down Knicks surprised Kobe and company in a shocking 106-83 win over the defending champions. NY could do no wrong this game as they lit it up from beyond the arc going 12/28 led by Chris Duhon's 5/6 performance. In fact Duhon's been so insane from the land of trey he's hit 10/13 in his last two games. Duhon also ran the show handing out 17 assists. As for LA aside from Kobe, they couldn't throw the ball in the ocean. Derek Fisher shot 5/16 and as a team LA just shot 39%. The Knicks blew the game open in the 3rd quarter when they held LA to just 14 points. Al Harrington paced the Knicks with 30 points as they had five players in double figures.
