What is keeping you from playing Madden?

Bullshit games like I just had against Izzy. this fuckin game is nothing but a crapshoot. It dictates when it will let bullshit happen and you have 0 control over it. AP fumbles the fuckin ball not once but twice in critical situations while he not tired and I fuckin lose on a FG in a game Im up by 2 possessions. Bad part about it is on the second fumble I have 2 men right on the fuckin ball but do they give me possesion? No they do that bullshit fight for the fumble and he gets it. Fuck this game. Ill stick to boxing where there is no bullshit AI to rely on.

I feel you.... Just had a game Vs Zeus. I hitstick him and he fumbles. I had 3 guys around the ball. His offensive linemen picks the ball up. The shit didnt even go into the fight for fumble crap, he just picked it up over my 3 guys.

Overall I am pleased with this years version of Madden. Of course, after last years version a kick in the ballsack would have been better. If they can fix the flat issue and give us the ability to turn off that fight for the fumble BS, I'll be a lot happier.

Right now, the only thing that is keeping me from playing the game more online is work and family time.

nah man I'm serious. The game is too sim. In the end, I think we all like our games a little bit unrealistic we just don't acknowledge it. The CPU does everything now. It's boring. There has to be some sort of user input.

haven't really enjoyed madden since next gen. last year i finally liked a little, this year a little more. seems like ea trys too hard in revamping instead of building on the small stuff that makes the replay value higher.

I like offline mode waay too much. I also, its more time management problem for me. I can't stay up at night to play online and play my offline modes. I try to get online during the weekends, but then I end up doing something outside the house. Being a young professional and not going to school, I can do a lot of other things aside from playing Madden all night or during the weekend

I also have to beat GH:Metallica yet, so I can be ready for Uncharted and then MW2

Playing guys from this site is boring. Everyone plays the exact same way. There is no originality in offensive and defensive playcalling. Unless I'm playing a league game, most of my games are probably just going to be play now games.

Same here. I'm sticking around for TGT, but thats it. East room games are more fun, because at least in there you can expect some BS

1) Basically, killing the enthusiasim I had right after the game dropped, was the change to EA Turtle Speed....and then all of the other stuff mentioned in posts above just piled on.

School is holding me back a lot now. Between actually being there and doing hw, plus working 30hrs a week it's hell trying to setup games with guys on here. But these two OFs should keep me busy.

Definitely time. Right now just starting school at USF im still getting acquainted to it. Also, having a girlfriend, a job, and friends takes away time too

I like this game quite a bit, i just started back to school and i have a six month old son. Time is scarce for my gaming interests.



I will still play a tracker game if you AIM me or message me on PSN, but other than than im ENGULFED if TGT. I scour ratings trying to make my backups better every week in the file, im always checking to see who was dropped.


If i had one more good franchise filled with vsn guys i might never play another tracker game again.

HOLDING ME BACK:
A) Flat passes too effective, thus everyone is overusing them, making for boring predictable games

B) Fight for the Fumble - I'm down one or two turnovers before a game even begins. Hate it with a passion.

C) My W-L record - I admit it. I don't like losing the way I have been this year. It's not fun. I'd rather play offline and have competitive, fun games.

D) Repetitive play on the part of many VSNers - HB toss, pass to HB flats, TE flats, short post, rinse, repeat. Zones all day long, very little blitzing (other than Izzy), rinse, repeat.

E) The Tracker - yes it's nice to see the W-L, but it's made way too many guys more concerned about winning than having a great game. Hell, I'd be surprised if people aren't running up scores just to improve their PF and PA average. So many people are obsessed with being "elite" they don't care about anything else.

F) My Madden Tracker Thread - it was fun for a while, but it got to be too much work after a game and kept me from actually playing more. I should have gone the Izzy route from day one.

G) Repetitive teams - I see the same opponents far too often. Raiders, Titans, Falcons, Saints, Giants and Dolphins made up 13 of my 21 Tracker games. I'm not blaming anyone for using their favourite team - I know I do - I'd just like to see different teams every so often. When GangstaEStyle used the Jets, I cried like a baby.

H) Pass coverage seemingly stupid this year when using my Eagles. I still can't forget a game against Strahanfan where he sliced and diced my D for 29 points in the 4th quarter. That doesn't happen to the Eagles' D and I was mixing my plays like a mofo against a decidedly average player.

I) Sick of all my interceptions - I can tone this shit down offline.

J) 6-minute games not long enough for me. I like a game with at least 45 offensive possessions each (actually 60, but I know that's not possible online). Playing offline, I use 15-minute quarters with acc. clock 25-second runoff and almost always see 120 offensive plays between the two teams.

G) Rarely anyone in the VSN room and no way to tell if guys on my friends list (ps3) are actually playing a game. This is tremendously annoying.

H) Challenges cause freezes for me all game, the FG holding penalties (which are being patched).

I) Lack of control over unranked games. Why the fuck should we be forced to do anything unranked? If I want to play with regular speed and fight for the fumble off unranked, I should be allowed to. I am not playing for rank. Hell, they should let us use sliders online.





I'd like to get back to playing online again, but it's simply not as fun as it used to be.

I just got the game and I am enjoying I will stick it out as long as everybody else does. But I have been on three days and sit in the room for hours and no action. Same 4 people I see everyday so far. Thats gets old fast.

After almost a year break, I am surprisely dissappointed to this year game.
I cannot get over the fact how the defense (man coverage) runs better routes than my offense even when I hot route. Superzones are back once again along with their Super LBs, manual control is better on defense but not on offense (alot of improvement needed).
Each year its seems like people care about winning at all cost than the SIM style of play which most of us enjoy, as I continue to play different people I see the same plays every game (money plays).

Besides these issues and plenty more, work/school/family time/PTA is really keeping me busy.....maybe 2 gms a week and thats for 220 and I might have to give that up!!!!:bigeyes:
