Also I literally just used your own logic. Since FF made Kingdom Hearts happen. Kingdom Hearts didn't revolutionize anything **cough** Real Time Action RPG**cough**. There were shooters well before COD. The chrono series was a bigger success than final fantasy by a large consensus. COD wouldn't exist without Goldeneye. We could do this all night

Actually original CoD stole a lot of gamers from Day of Defeat (great great game and vastly underrated) and Medal of Honor

I've always been a big FPS guy ever since 2003 when I first found out what Halo was, and playing it on a LAN with 4 TVs and Xbox's before the whole console online gaming thing really took off. I was always a Halo over everything guy, but loved all the COD games starting with 2(It's a shame this was never brought to PS3) which launched with the Xbox. Coming from a guy who basically had 90% of his friends list filled with people who ONLY played Halo, the changes that occurred from Halo 3 to Reach almost killed the series. Then the bridge from Reach to Halo 4 really hasn't done much for it either. From what I've seen the game isn't even played on the MLG Circuit, and Halo is basically the game that kicked that whole thing off. So everyone screaming for MAJOR changes to the COD series, please stfu and allow it to progress slowly.

Kingdom Hearts was known for mixing fun elements of RPG with iconic characters no?

Every genre has a precursor game don't get this argument. It really isn't that hard to push things forward or be original when you are a COD/GTA/Halo franchise it really isn't. You can even straight up steal another games cool feature and make it your own and everyone will think you are a trail blazer. Its knowing how easy it is then seeing it not happen thats annoying.
6 years ago RB6/Ghost Recon/COD/Halo were some pretty wildly different games and experiences....today? The differences are far FAR less significant then they were before. I can just as easily blame bungie and ubisoft but I'd rather just pick on COD for rehashing every year forcing the issue.
