Evans bailed him out a ton of times in the Auburn and Alabama games (the only Footbaw games I've seen this year).

Manziel is a lot of fun to watch but his game is totally out of control. I don't know how many coaches would be able to deal with him as well as Sumlin has.

Shame that WRs don't get much love, and had ODB not muffed a punt that greatly contributed to the Georgia loss maybe I'd say he had more of a case. But this is Mariota's to lose.

his comp rating is about the only thing that's far better than last year. he's already thrown 8 int's compared to last year's 9 total. he'll end up with more passing yards and td's, but I doubt he comes close to the rushing totals he put up last year, which put him over the top on most voters lists (not to mention his alabama victory).

with a loss to alabama and a loss to auburn and all the offseason hoopla voters were never gonna vote him the heisman again short of him having the best season of any player of any era.

doesn't matter how much a "better" year he's having he was never going to win it again this year.

The Tim Brown Heisman was funny to me, because Brown was much more dynamic his junior year. They gave it to him his senior year as a lifetime achievement award, and because no one really liked Vinny Testaverde or Gordie Lockbaum IIRC.

Yeah, it's just really hard to win twice no matter who you are, but especially if you made headlines for the "wrong reasons" in the offseason. If the voters are ever going to get over their phobia of multiple winners, they aren't about to start with Manziel. Self-important media likes to censure "flashy" athletes and there is a character clause in the criteria which they can use to justify the snub.

Mariota should be the "safe" choice, his statline is unreal right now. Winston and maybe McCarron will finish ahead of Manziel as well. Those are probably your four finalists.
