However, Wheel of Fortune just started here on the East Coast. I'm going to go watch that...because it's ratings are great for a nightly game show, and I think it still has quality after all of these years. (how was that attempt? See post #14)

Jersey Shore sucks, I refuse to watch it, but I know a hell of a lot of people that play drinking games with it and still follow the story.

We live in a democracy. Usually public opinion reflects popular opinion. If what's "good, quality entertainment" is decided by one person, well that'd be Facism! That's just not American.

Guess what? I watch a number of shitty shows. Look at my posts in both the Jersey Shore and Real World threads. The difference is that I'm not running around saying it's awesome because I and 20 million others watch it.

Shit content is still shit content. But we all watch shit sometimes.

1) If ratings are such a great correlation to quality, then why did my Mom cry when "I'll Fly Away" was cancelled?

2) F16's arguments have been spot on, even though his arguments aren't in response to anyone else's postings in this thread. His comebacks and putdowns have been unreal, though.

3) I am working my way into the industry, I'm sure I know infinitely more than you.
