1.) Self Made (ft. Teedra Moses) |
4.25 - 5
- Wale just sounds HUNGRY. Pill's verse is pretty good also, but Just Blaze's beat was a nice surprise from the trap production I assumed was coming.
2.) Meek Mill & Rick Ross - Tupac Back |
2 - 2.5
- Ugh, no one's screaming Tupac's back on a Rick Ross and Meek Mill song.
3.) Wale & Rick Ross - 600 Benz (ft. Jadakiss) |
4
4.) Pill & Rick Ross - Pacman |
4 - 4.25
- Pill really fits this production style well. Another similar-sounding hook by Ross.
5.) By Any Means |
3.5 - 4
6.) Wale, Meek Mill & Rick Ross - Fitted Cap (ft. J. Cole) |
3
- What a disappointing verse by J. Cole.
7.) Pill & Wale - Rise (ft. Teedra Moses, Cyhi da Prynce & Curren$y) |
4.5 - 5
- Was scared for a second that Curren$y was just given hook duties. Saved the best for last.
8.) Wale & Rick Ross - That Way (ft. Jeremih) |
5
- Standing ovation to all parties involved in this song, especially Lex Luger for changing his production lane.
9.) Meek Mill & Rick Ross - Ima Boss |
1.75 - 2
- The beat sounds like something from Mega Man. *laughs*
10.) Pill - Don't Let Me Go (ft. Gunplay) |
5
- Wow.
11.) Meek Mill, Wale & Rick Ross - Pandemonium |
4 - 4.75
12.) Wale, Meek Mill & Rick Ross - Play Your Part (ft. D.A. of Chester French) |
3.25 - 4
13.) Pill - Ridin' On Dat Pole |
3 - 3.25
14.) Pill, Meek Mill & Rick Ross - Big Bank (ft. Torch & French Montana) |
2 - 2.75
15.) Wale & Meek Mill - Running Rebels (ft. Teedra Moses) |
4 - 4.25
- More on point production.
Overall: 3.73/5
Brief Notes:
- Wale and Pill are the stars of this album, with the latter being more impressive. I still think it's weird to hear Wale on Maybach Music's label but he dismissed my worries by spitting some impressive verses - the first one on "Self Made" in particular. Pill, however, just takes his verses and runs with them, only slipping up slightly once ("Ridin' On Dat Pole"). "Don't Let Me Go" is the best song on here.
- Rick Ross continues to just be a feature rapper from my enjoyability level. I can't stand him through the duration of an album but have dug a lot of his guest spots lately. His verse on "That Way" doesn't capture the song like he did on Kanye West's "Devil In A New Dress", but he spits it in a way that shocks you the more and more you listen to it. He fits the subject matter by just doing himself, and I can respect that. However, his hooks all throughout this album sound the same and are a carbon copy of the one from "BMF" off of Telfon Don.
- I don't see the appeal in Meek Mill. From listening to this, all I got from him was average rhymes and an annoying delivery. I kinda wish they would have waited a little longer to release this so we could have gotten some Stalley verses, so they would cut into Meek's.
