Here we go. Tonight is the hardest game of the series. Game 5 was always going to be Chicago's. As will more than likely game 7. BUT, they have to get it back to Chicago and that wont be easy at all. Tonights the night. :nervous:

Game 7....I'm not taking anything for granted. Hawks need to come out focused and not let Detroit strike first.

Detroit didn't seem to be doing anything different in Game 6 (roughing up Toews, stick holding on Toews and Stalberg, interference/holding on everyone, slashing on breakaways, Franzen/"Abelskivver"/Cleary taking runs at the goalie, etc.), yet the refs are starting to call some of it. I thought in Games 4 & 5 Toews had two breakaways where he was taken down...one time it was an incredulous no-call, the other they just awarded a regular penalty. The Frolik breakaway penalty was mild compared to whats gone on previously.

I thought it was weird that the Hawks got the most favorable officiating in Detroit. Will be an interesting game 7. I still think the series is 50/50.

And yeah, the calls are in favour of Chicago, figured it would be that way, the league doesn't want Chicago to get eliminated. They want them in the finals.

Not that im disagreeing with you...but what calls exactly did the Hawks get? The penalty shot was clearly a penalty, weather you want to give him the shot or not is the only iffy part. It seemed like the Hawks got called for a lot of calls during that game, and the one at the end of the game damn near bit them in the ass.

So you have an obvious Too many Men call, and offsetting minors. The Hawks have the PP Edge 5-4...You make it seem like the hawks got 7 PP while the Wings had 0

Game 1 was a push, in all other games the Redwings held that advantage. In Game 5 which was a must win game for the Hawks the advantage was to Detroit 6-5. Get the fuck out of here with the Hawks are getting all the calls. Your team fell apart in the third and blew 2 straight Defensive assignments, and then made a mistake on a breakaway. The refs didnt hand shit to anybody.

The Smith/Quincey pairing is absolutely atrocious. Every time I see them on the ice I want to do this to the tv.

That was as much of a text book case for a penalty shot as ive seen in a while. Wings fans didnt want to see it called because its the playoffs but it doesnt work that way.

Id say the reffing has really turned around. The wings were getting away with murder in the first 3 games.

I understand your anger in a way...the refs have allowed the Red Wings to play a certain style of "defense" (i.e. being so slow and out of position that a Blackhawks breakaway happens about once per period, but allowing the Red Wings defender to take down the Blackhawk player from behind without any penalty), that for the refs to do an about-face and call a penalty on a rather textbook slash job must be upsetting.
