Anyone playing this? I picked it up the other day for shits and gigs. Gotta say, I am really enjoying the game and Universe mode. I don't follow wrestling all that closely anymore. I was more of a fan back in the late 80's to late 90's. But, I love the customization options available to the user. I created my universe with Raw as the Attitude era guys and Smackdown with the current guys.

Got some nice cut-scenes and stories developing. I had Stone Cold lose a match on Raw to HBK, but, he lost because he was attacked before the match by HBK. So, HBK was scheduled to face Kane in a #1 contender match with Austin as the guest referee. HBK hit the sweet chin music on Kane and Austin didn't even count. Kane mounted a comeback and delivered a choke slam to HBK and Austin proceeded with a very quick 3-count. Because of all that, Kane is the #1 contender for Rock's WWE title @ Extreme Rules.

On Smackdown the big feud right now is Alberto Del Rio with Hollywood Hulk Hogan (I know I said I used current era guys for Smackdown, but, I did make an exception and put the NWO on Smackdown with DX on Raw) for the World Heavyweight Championship. Del Rio already beat Hogan on Smackdown and I suspect they'll face-off as well @ Extreme Rules.

Anyone else pick up the game and really get into Universe mode?

I've been thinking about doing it. Have you played any of the recent ones? I've really not enjoyed the gameplay but if I can fantasy book and not really have to do a lot of the in-ring stuff I'd be in.

This is my first WWE game in a long time. You can run the Universe without playing if you want. It gives you complete control over or you can set-up so that the CPU handles all the booking, feuds, etc. Personally, I just play one or two interesting matches on each card. For example, I just did the Extreme Rules PPV and played the Alberto Del Rio vs Dolph Ziggler WHC and the WWE Championship match between Rock and Kane. Both champs retained their titles. I would say give the gameplay a shot too. I lost my first 10 matches or so before I learned the controls. Now, I'm 50-50 but it is a hell of a lot of fun.

Plus, you can create your own cut-scenes for your universe or DL them off the community creations section. Really in-depth. 2K really did a wonderful job.

I hope NBA 2K takes the creation tools into their game. Seems really limited, when compared to its newly acquired wrestling game.

Can't get enough of this universe mode at the moment!

Had a couple of crazy months with the titles. The Rock was dominating everyone thrown his way except for Austin. However, Austin was screwed out of a title match when Vince gave it to HBK. HBK won the title at the Over the Limit PPV and only held it for a month before The Rock won it back at No Way Out. The Rock held on to the title through the MITB PPV and eventually lost it to Big Show @ SummerSlam.

On the Smackdown side, Alberto Del Rio was also holding onto his belt for quite some time before losing it to Ryback @ the MITB PPV. Daniel Bryan won the MITB match and "Cashed In" @ SummerSlam right after Ryback had defeated Hollywood Hogan for the WHC. Daniel Bryan made quick work of a fatigued Ryback and took the WHC home.

Kofi Kingston finally ended Dean Ambrose's run at IC champ @ SummerSlam.

RVD and Eddie Guerrero have put on two PHENOMENAL matches in back-to-back PPVs @ No Way Out & SummerSlam with RVD taking the US Championship from Guerrero back at No Way Out.

With the Night of Champions PPV up next, the card is looking pretty solid.

RVD and Eddie will go at it again for the US title. Hoping this match ends the feud. Otherwise, I am stepping in and scheduling someone else at the next PPV. Great matches, but, they can't keep fighting each month.

We have Lesnar, Undertaker and Sheamus in a triple threat match

IC title is on the line with Kofi and Cesaro

Big Show vs Rock for the WWE title

Daniel Bryan & Dolph Ziggler for the WHC

Up to Survivor Series now in my Universe. Night of Champions and Hell in a Cell PPVs were ok.

Kofi Kingston has had two successful title defenses on both shows.

Big Show continues to be the achilles heel for The Rock as he could not gain back the WWE Title from Big Show. Big Show successfully defended his title at Hell in a Cell against Mick Foley.

Eddie Guerrero finally earned his US Title back at Night of Champions. He defended the title against XPac @ Hell in a Cell.

Daniel Bryan has been the surprise of the bunch. He has been dominating all opponents for the WHC. He beat Dolph Ziggler @ Night of Champions and then beat the piss out of CM Punk in a title match @ Hell in a Cell.

My current Survivor Series card:

Kofi Kingston (c) vs The Miz for the IC title (this has nothing to do with last night and the match announced IRL between the two @ SurvivorSeries - purely coincidental)

Eric Rowan/Luke Harper vs Ryder/Marella (probably going to change this to a match with The Shield as a 6-man tag match)

RVD vs XPac vs Eddie (c) for the US title (hate to keep the same guys incorporated into this little triangle but no one else seems to be able to climb their way up for a shot)

New Age Outlaws (c) vs Perry Saturn/Dean Malenko for the Tag-Team Championship
