Chris Johnson's an outstanding back, but Peterson is still the best in the league IMO.

But he's been healthy pretty his entire pro career. So I don't think the term injury prone can apply to him anymore.

I understand that missing the two games his rookie year wasn't a great big loss, but doesn't that still count?

Anyway, I want to see if he can get his average back up at all. It dropped from 5.6 to 4.8 and I don't recall the 07 Vikings being so much better than the 08 Vikigns. Now he has a 4.5 YPC, but he has twelve TDs, so that's cool. And yet he has six fumbles. Idk.

Johnson's holding it together. He's improved. With seven less carries thus far this season, he has 281 more yards, 1.3 higher Y/A... Four less receptions, 62 more yards. And he doesn't have LenDale helping out this year... Even though LenDale lost weight by cutting Petron out his diet.

He also has one more tackle. As if that matters.

I love how people are saying they like Chris Johnson because he's not injury prone and because he doesn't initiate contact.

Remarkable that people are calling Peterson injury prone considering he only missed two games his entire career (rookie year). For an injury prone guy, he sure know how to rack up the yardage and TDs.

And aren't running backs who don't initiate contact considered "soft" or "aging" by most people? Nothing against CJ (who is having a wonderful year and I'm rooting for him to break ED's record), but give me the back who isn't afraid to lower his head to fight for those extra yards. He is a violent runner and he strikes fear. I'll live with a few fumbles if you're racking up 1,500+/12+ a year.

Also, my one criticism of running backs is that when they get to the edge and have one on one against a defender (especially against corners, that's when it pisses me off the most), they get scared and try to get out of bounds and get what yardage they're being allowed. Sometimes, it's smart to do that, but AP just goes through the defender when he needs to and he gets so much more yardage out of it because of it.

His fumbling problems is a result of passive coaching. No reason he shouldn't be getting railed out in training camp and in games for that.

Chris Johnson is fast as all fuck. But AD is the best pure runner Ive seen since Faulk. Best mix of speed/balance/power since Terrell and Emmit were around.

CJ is massively impressive. Good games in bad weather , doing it with and without good QB play , consistently breaking long runs and getting key first downs and short plays.

Cant go wrong with either.

I chose Cj, but I would take Steven Jackson no doubt. Jackson puts up great number despite running behind a shitty line.

I've never quite seen a running back like AP or CJ and both have styles that I love but I voted for CJ because he doesn't fumble.

CJ is more of a threat to house it on any given play, as well.

Until AP gets his fumbling issue corrected, I'd take CJ.

Obviously he uses his speed and moves to get out of most situations, but if you think that's all he has, watch some more tape of him.

He has power, he can take contact, and he can break tackles. I'm not doubting that. But he is not anywhere near as violent or strong as AP. Chris Johnson can lower his shoulder and get a few, but when AP lowers his shoulder, defenders get destroyed.

While there's no doubting Johnson's superior speed, very few people run down Peterson from behind.

Something which I think is very odd. Chris Johnson's excellent season seems to be the main reason the Average Joe is assuming Peterson has gone the way of the 30 year old running back already.
