Cro Cop will look to rebound from his upset loss to Eddie Sanchez at UFC 105.

Serra is Victorious Over Faber - Mir V Sylvia Ends Early

Lightweight Matt Serra got back on track with a win at UFC 111

          UFC 111
          June 19th, 2010
Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino - Las Vegas, NV

          Maincard Results:

Light Heavyweight Match: Houston Alexander V Keith Jardine (me)
It was a even match throughout. No fighter really did anything spectacular. Keith Jardine did a better job of evading strikes from Houston Alexander. Both fighters wore the other down physically. Eventually, Jardine was able to connect with a head-kick to land the knockout blow.
Result: Keith Jardine wins by KO 0:19 into the 3rd round

Heavyweight Match: Mirko Cro Cop V Kimbo Slice (me)
Mirko Cro Cop really dominated the 1st round. Especially with his kickboxing skills. Cro Cop was able to avoid strikes from Slice by keeping his distance. Slice was unable to create a consistent offensive attack. Slice was worn down after the 1st round - he simply didn't have enough range to compete with Cro Cop. Slice came out more offensive in the 2nd round. Slice was able to successfully land some combinations that stunned Cro Cop two times. Each time, however, Slice was unable to finish the fight. Eventually Cro Cop landed a superman punch to record the knockout victory.
Result: Mirko Cro Cop wins by KO 1:53 into the 2nd round

Middleweight Fight: Martin Kampmann V Jason McDonald (me)
Excellent fight! This match went the distance. Jason McDonald really utilized and dominated with the ground game. Kampmann really wasn't much of a factor on the mat. Kampmann was only able to record 2 successful takedowns against McDonald's half-dozen. When on their feet, the fighters played it conservatively - neither one really attacking. McDonald had side control on Kampmann for the last 1:30 of the final round and simply sat on Kampmann to ensure the victory.
Result: Jason McDonald wins by Unanimous Decision after 3 rounds

Headline Event/Lightweight Match: Urijah Faber (me) V Matt Serra
This could be known as the "one that got away." Faber dominated the first 2 rounds of this match. He had Serra on the mat and was simply pounding away with body shots and head shots. Faber was successfully wearing down Serra through the first 2 rounds. Serra turned the tables in the 3rd round and focused on the ground game rather than his boxing. Serra recorded a couple of takedowns and was able to control the entire round. With less than a minute to go in the match, Serra passed Faber's guard and had full mount. Faber simply had to bid his time - it didn't work. Serra was able to land a hammer-fist to knockout Faber and record the victory.
Result: Matt Serra wins by KO 4:05 into the 3rd round

Main Event/Heavyweight Match: Tim Sylvia V Frank Mir (me)
BTW, sorry for the quality. I can not capture in HD...I know, it sucks, but, hopefully you can still watch and enjoy. Per Youtube, the video is in the midst of being "processed" so the quality should improve. The other videos I have posted on there look better after being processed. ENJOY!

I am surprised that Mir stood up with Sylvia. I was expecting him to take him to the ground and tap him out. Good knockout though none the less.

Well, I moved back up to Expert level and as you can see, I only attempted a couple takedowns. It is much harder on expert to score a takedown. It's definitely a challenge, but, I like it more. I was on Advanced and I was shredding the CPU again. So...I decided to move up...again...hopefully this time won't be like UFC 103 where the CPU subbed me to death.

Anyway, thanks for checking in! I will try and get another PPV in tonight, but, with WEC on...it's not likely.

The UFC returns to Chicago in July for UFC 112! This will be Silva's first title defense since winning the title at UFC 105 against Lyoto Machida

Just finished UFC 112! The Kongo/Couture and Silva/Evans fights were awesome!

I'm just uploading the video now and it should be cleaned up in a few hours. Hope you all enjoy Silva/Evans. I sure did! The only thing I will say is that there was one submission escape that blew my mind because I had never seen it before.

                    Couture KO's Kongo

Randy Couture scored a KO victory over Cheick Kongo at UFC 112

                    UFC 112
                    July 24th, 2010
                    United Center - Chicago, IL

                    Maincard Results:

Welterweight Match: Kyle Bradley V Matt Arroyo (me)
Matt Arroyo came out firing in this match. Arroyo recorded 3 takedowns in the 1st round alone. Kyle Bradley was able to make some noise with a knockdown of Arroyo in the 2nd, but, the damage was already done. Arroyo came back with a punch combo that led to a knockout of Bradley.
Result: Matt Arroyo wins by KO 2:30 into the 2nd round

Middleweight Match: Drew McFedries V Yushin Okami (me)
Yushin Okami dominated the entire fight. Okami stunned McFedries on 2 separate occasions. McFedries only notable accomplishment was opening up Okami early with a blow to the head. After that, McFedries failed to protect himself from Okami's punches and found himself flat on the mat before Okami finished for the TKO victory.
Result: Yushin Okami wins by TKO 4:22 into the 1st round

Lightweight Match: Diego Sanchez (me) V Roger Huerta
I wouldn't classify this as a fight. Huerta recorded an early takedown of Sanchez and passed his guard immediately. Huerta sat on top of Sanchez reigning down hammer-fists before landing the knockout blow just a few minutes into the 1st round.
Result: Roger Huerta wins by KO 2:41 into the 1st round

Headline Event/Heavyweight Match: Cheick Kongo V Randy Couture (me)
Randy Couture was getting punished in the clinch early on. Couture was able to bounce back and dominate the 2nd round of the match with multiple takedowns of Kongo and 2 knockdowns as well. Couture finally landed the winning blow just after the start of the 3rd round.
Result: Randy Couture wins by KO 0:32 into the 3rd round

Main Event/Light Heavyweight Championship Match: Champion Thiago Silva V Rashad Evans (me)

Machida V Rampage set for UFC 113

Lyoto Machida will see his first action in the Octagon since a UFC 105 title loss to Thiago Silva

                      Date: August 21st, 2010

                      Event Type: Live PPV

Former light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida will return to the octagon for the first time since his stunning loss at UFC 105 to Thiago Silva. Machida will look to reassert himsself as the divisions #1 contender to the title. Rampage Jackson will also see his first action since a loss to current champion Rashad Evans at UFC 103 and will also be looking to claim his stake among the divisions elite fighters.

UFC legend Matt Hughes will also be in action against UFC veteran Josh Koscheck. Hughes, now nearly 37, will look to prove that age has not had an effect on his fighting ability. Lightweight Kenny Florian and Tyson Griffin will also be in action as well.

                      Maincard:

                      Light Heavyweight Match:
                      Matt Hamill (7-2) V Tim Boetsch (8-4)

                      Heavyweight Match:
                      Justin McCully (10-4-2) V Shane Carwin (11-1)

                      Lightweight Match:
                      Kenny Florian (13-4) V Tyson Griffin (14-3)

                      Headline Event/Welterweight Mtach:
                      Matt Hughes (44-8) V Josh Koscheck (15-5)

                      Main Event/Light Heavyweight Match:
                      Lyoto Machida (15-1) V Rampage Jackson (30-8)

Just as a heads up. I previously posted future matches, but, that was a scheduling error on my part. So, certain matches (i.e. Franklin/Griffin, Arlovski/Lesnar) are still on, but, they have just been pushed back to a later card.

                          Maincard Results:

Light Heavyweight Match: Matt Hamill V Tim Boetsch (me)
Joke of a fight. Hamill got Boetsch to the ground and locked in an arm-bar to end the fight within 15 seconds.
Result: Matt Hamill wins by Submission in the 1st round

Heavyweight Match: Justin McCully (me) V Shane Carwin
Justin McCully and Shane Carwin basically boxed the entire fight. Carwin recorded 1 takedown of McCully and McCully was able to transition out and get to half-guard on Carwin before standing up. McCully ended the fight early in the 2nd with a right hook for the knockout.
Result: Justin McCully wins by KO 0:46 into the 2nd round

Lightweight Match: Kenny Florian V Tyson Griffin (me)
FIGHT OF THE NIGHT!!! Great fight! This match went the distance and came down the judges. Florian and Griffin were excellent. Both fighters utilized the ground game which resulted in a lot of transitions and reversals. Griffin was able to record more takedowns, but, Florian was able to record more mounts. It was a split decision with all 3 judges scoring the fight 29-28. 2 in favor of Griffin and 1 for Florian.
Result: Tyson Griffin wins by Split Decision 29-28

Welterweight Match: Matt Hughes V Josh Koscheck (me)
Matt Hughes went to the ground game early on Koscheck. However, Koscheck turned the tables on Hughes and dominated the ground game and slowed the fight down. Koscheck was also more proficient in his boxing on the evening than Hughes as well. Koscheck was able to record 2 knockdowns of Hughes before finally landing the winning punch mid-way trhough the 2nd round.
Result: Josh Koscheck wins by KO 3:33 into the 2nd round

Light Heavyweight Match: Lyoto Machida V Rampage Jackson (me)
As you will see in the video, Machida had Jackson on the ground at one point with full mount. Needless to say, the fight didn't go to the ground after that.

EDIT: Error fixed! Video is still processing though.

                              UFC 114: Fedor V Arlovski

Champion Fedor Emelianenko V Andrei Arlovski (me) - Heavyweight Championship Match: The only comment I can make on this fight is that I have never seen such a good takedown offense from any fighter than I saw from Fedor. The fight took 2 videos to make. I have posted them in order. Enjoy!

BTW, I am noticing that it is a lot easier to watch the videos right off of youtube. Not sure why, but, it seems to run smoother. I will still post the videos in the thread for convenience though. However, if you are having trouble, just search my channel "mscharver" on youtube and you should find them.
