I got a win in a baseball game against a human! I've only won two or three games in four years of playing this game. Somehow got 7 runs. I am now 1-4 in the HHL.

Finished Transistor tonight. Really enjoyed it, but am still piecing together the story in my mind. To say that it is minimalist story telling is an understatement.Leave a comment:

I enjoyed the first one but it was a bit long...like 16-20 hours long.Leave a comment:

I still have to finish the first one! Maybe I'll dive into it again once I finish Transistor.Leave a comment:

What is the purpose of collecting all that gold and jewels?Leave a comment:

Probably took me like, 4 hours in one sitting? This is after playing world's 1 and 2 a few times because I didn't realize you could warp to the other world's by walking backwards.
You have unlimited lives, you only lose gold. The time depends on how much you die. If you decide to do the Path of the Valkyrie, it would probably take more time in the long run, as it would require much practice.
Path of the Valkyrie is basically where you beat a world without being hit, much less dying. Then you get a second path, that you get 1 to 2 chances on, depending on how many jewels you collected (max you can get, I think, is 2 in a world). You die more than that, you take the regular path and you don't unlock the Valkyrie mark for that level.
I've still only managed to get to world 3 on Path of the Valkyrie. It gets way too intense and allows for such a tiny margin of error, especially in world 2, which features fucking boats on water and guess what? You can't swim.Leave a comment:

As you complete entire levels (i.e. - beat the boss at the end), you can walk backwards at the start of the level, off of the screen. Doing so will advance you to the next world. There is no level select or save, outside of that. You start at the beginning of a world no matter what.
So, how long does it take to beat? I'm guessing only a few hours, tops? Like old school NES/Genesis games?Leave a comment:

Still, great game. I would recommend being okay with stopping after beating a world and taking a break. When I powered through it, things got to the point where I was fucking up things that I had done 15 times in a row prior to that. Then I was fucking up things even earlier than that, and so on.Leave a comment:

Not to change the subject from backseat parenting via the interent...
Glad that you're enjoying it! I really loved the game. One of the first I finished following my surgery, which was maybe risky as I was supposed to avoid things that elevated my blood pressure.
It doesn't get any easier after the first level. In fact, I'd go so far as to say the first level is easy at this point for me, after the number of times I've played it. I can now mow through it without being touched.
The first boss is also SUPER easy in comparison to later ones. The final boss is such a FUCKING ASSPIRATE.
Question...there is no save? I have to start from the beginning of the game each time?Leave a comment:
