Been playing as Newcastle, currently in February of the first season. As always, money has been a problem, but we are flying high with the best offence and best defence in the Championship.
Struggled a bit in November and December, falling down to fourth, but have roared back in January to take the top of the table.
Getting everyone healthy has been a big part of that. Danny Guthrie started the season hurt, and struggled when he came back. He has been a beast the last month, and the team is ticking because of it. Keeping a right winger has also been tough, as I signed Kennedy at the start of the season, but he has been injury prone, meaning Wayne Routledge has played more than I'd like. In the January window, I signed Milan Badeji from Dinamo Kiev, and this 20 yr old has been a revelation - 4 league appearences, 3 goals and an assist as well as an assist in a 5-0 demoltion of Birmingham in the cup
Transfer Signings-
Kennedy (MR) - Ajax - £875k 11 goals, 4 assists in 18 apps 7.18
Mantorras (ST) - Benfica - Loan, 4 goals, 5 assists in 18 apps 6.91
Mihai Nesu (DL) - Utrecht - Loan, 1 goal, 6.81 rating
Daniel Sjolund (MC) - Djurgarden - £750k, 2 goals, 1 assist in 15 apps, 6.94
Damien Plessis (DMC) - Liverpool - Loan, 11 apps, 6.94
Milan Badelj (AMC/R) - Dinamo - £1.5m, 3 goals, 2 assists in 6 apps, 7.62
Amine Lingazi (DC) - Blackburn - Loan, 6.82 rating in 6 apps
No real big sales, except for Leon Best to Hearts for £1.4m
Steven Taylor is out for three months and I don't like Williamson, which is why I loaned Lingazi.
Jonas has 10 goals and 12 assists with a 7.55 rating in 30 apps
Andy Carrol has 16 goals and 5 assists with a 7.40 rating in 26 appsComment

Just finished my first season at Everton. Finished 6th (20-8-10). We were the highest scoring team with 87 but also allowed the 4th worst with 69. We had a good first half getting as high as 4th in the league but our second half wasn't as good.
High notes:
-Went 2-2-1 against ManU on the year with the two draws coming in the Premiership.
-Made it to the semi's in both the League and FA Cup, and the quarters in the EURO Cup.
Transfers:
-Bought Scott Chipperfield for $875,000 because we needed a backup LB.
-Bought Jermaine Beckford for $2,000,000 because he just came to Everton this season IRL.
-Bought Ronaldo for $2,900,000, but later sold him in the January window for $3,000,000 which gave us enough money to pursue Aleksander Lukovic for $3,600,000.
-Nearly signed Javier Hernandez but didn't have the money to do so.
Notable Stats (Premier/Overall):
-Tim Cahill: 29 goals, 9 assts./ 42 goals, 14 assts., 56 apps
-Dinijar Bilyaletdinov: 3 goals, 18 assts./ 7 goals, 38 assts., 58 apps

I haven't played this in a couple weeks but my first game back Fernando breaks his arm and is out 3-4 weeks.
He's been out a total of 40 days so far not including this most recent injury and it is only November. He's gone for sure at the end of the year, maybe even in January.Comment

Went with Wolves for my latest career. I'm running a 4-3-3 setup with an anchorman and two center mids.
We finished mid-table in 8th place with 18 wins, 14 losses, and 6 draws. Scored 63 goals as a team, which was good for 6th in the premiership, while conceding 51 for a +12 G.D.
From January on we finished the season very strong win 9 wins, 4 losses, and 4 draws, including a 3-0 home victory over Man U.
My transfers included:
CB - Markus Heikkinen for 4.2m from Rapid Wein
Anchor Man - Anthony Annan for 6m from Rosenborg
FB - Ibrahim Kargbo for 4.1m from Willem II
ST - Nicky Maynard for 7.5 from Bristol City
CM - Eric Djemba-Djemba for 6m from OB
Then in January..
ST - Scott McDonald for 12m from Middlesbrough
CB - Jordan Spence in on loan from West Ham
CM - Andreas Landgren on loan from Udinese
Outgoing..
Matt Jarvis to Newcastle for 4.4m
Richard Stearman to Ipswich for 4m
Michael Kightly to Porto for 5.5m
Nenad Milijas loaned to Braga for 600k
Matt Hill to Ipswich for 2.4m
David Jones to Derby for 2.6m
Stephen Ward to Coventry for 3.5m
George Elokobi to Blackpool for 2.5m

I was pretty quiet in the July 2010 transfer window.
Brought in Keisuke Honda from CSKA and Miles Addison from Birmingham.
Sold: Nenad Milijas to Newcastle for 5.5m, Stefan Maierhofer to Birmingham for 3.5m.
I let Matt Murray, Marcus Hahnemann, Jody Craddock and Sam Winnall go on free transfers.
Loaned out Andrew Keogh, Sam Vokes, and Ibrahim Kargbo.
The stadium is in the process of being expanded as well, and we've told the board that we expect a top half finish in the table.
My current selection looks like:
------Steven Fletcher---Kevin Doyle---Scott McDonald-------
----------Keisuke Honda----Karl Henry----------
-----------------Anthony Annan----------------
Jelle Van Damme--Christophe Berra--Miles Addison--Kevin Foley
----------------Wayne Hennessey---------------------------
Carl Ikeme, Eric Djemba-Djemba, Adiene Guediora, Markus Heikkinen, Nicky Maynard, David Edwards, and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake are my substitutes.
5 games into the season we have 3 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss. We started off the season by routing Man U 3-0 AT Old Tafford, followed by a 1-0 home win over Chelsea, before losing a 0-1 headscratcher at home to West Brom. Blew out West Ham 4-1, and drew with Stoke 1-1.
I have noticed a somewhat disturbing trend, in that Kevin Doyle only seems to show up for the big matches. I mean obviously it's a plus that he turns in monster performances against the big clubs, but it would be nice if he chipped in occasionally so we don't lose 1-0 to West Brom, or draw 1-1 with Stoke. He does have 5 goals thus far, 3 of them coming against Man U, and 1 against Chelsea. Fletcher has 3, and McDonald has the other 1.Comment

The early success has not turned into long term success thus far this season.
We head in to January with 8 wins, 5 draws, and 9 losses, despite a +10 goal differential, which leaves us at 11th in the table.
I'm very happy with my January transfer window acquisitions thus far, however.
In:
CB - Steven Taylor from Newcastle
ST - John Fleck from Rangers
Miles Addison, who I brought in in July has been absolutely outstanding, turning in a 7.32 average rating at CB over 20 appearances thus far. Honda has turned in a 7.04 with 3 goals and 4 assists in 19 appearances.
Outgoing:
Nicky Maynard on loan to Derby. Maynard was goalless in 10 apps, and his career at Wolves is basically over. I loaned him only because no one would buy him.
Christophe Berra sold to Hoffenheim for 5m. Didn't really want to sell him, but he was constantly bitching about wanting a move to a bigger club, so naturally he accepts a deal to Hoffenheim. *shrugs*. His complaining was pretty much the impetus behind acquiring Taylor.
Scott McDonald sold to Blackpool for 9m. McDonald actually was not that bad, and had Ebanks-Blake not been on the squad, I'd have kept him around. However, with Fletcher, Fleck, and Doyle starting, and Blake being the man sub, with Vokes also being a part of the future here, it seemed pertinent to sell high on McDonald. He had 4 goals and 6 assists in 20 apps this season with a 7.09 rating.
I'm super stoked about bringing in Fleck. He's going to a good one.
As far as scoring is concerned, Fletcher leads the team thus far with 10 goals in 19 apps, while Doyle has 7 in 16, and Blake with 5 in 18.Comment

Downloaded a 'roster update' with all the transfers mostly up to date so I restarted my Everton save.

2010/2011 season with Wolves went pretty much the same as 2009/2010, finishing in the exact same position as we did last year, 8th.
Fleck was a little disappointing, but Taylor, Addison, and Honda all had strong first years with Wolves.
There's a pretty good chance that one of my strikers will be sold this summer, either Kevin Doyle or Ebanks-Blake, as I'm ready to bring Vokes into the fray. It's probably going to be Blake that goes, as he's the weakest of the bunch, but that remains to be seen.
I'll likely be searching the market for an upgrade at right back, as well as another midfielder to pair with Honda. Edwards and Djemba-Djemba haven't really been cutting it to my liking. Definitely not going to be making many moves in regards to either CB, LB, or GK, as I'm quite happy with Van Damme, Taylor, Addison, and Hennessey.
I declined any interest as well in taking over the open Aston Villa job to stick with the Wolves into my third season.Comment
