I'm pretty sure I'm getting Fancy Pants. Possibly Spare Parts as well.

I was hoping for a sale on the NFS:HS DLC with this EA sale but I guess not. Pretty slim pickings from such a big publisher.

And speaking of NFS, I noticed that there was a bundle pack that has all three DLC packs for $20. Yet each pack is $7 each so you only save $1?!? Seriously?!?

I also learned something about the demos, or lack there of on the PS Store while reading several magazines and also the book All Your Base Belong to Us while on vacation. Because PSN is free all the cost of a game demo is fronted by the developers and publishers, unlike on Live where the user is basically paying for them as part of their subscription. It sucks because of course more often than not these companies, especially smaller ones, can't afford to put the demos up.

The only demos you are technically paying for are the ones that are exclusive to Gold members, and PSN now does the same exact thing.
Yes I do know that. And I knew someone would bring that up. Those same free demos available to Silver members are probably the same games that have demos on PSN.

This was from a GamePro article...
"Publishers already pay costs for creating a demo, a process that can run six figures. Sony's fees add a new expense. For a demo that is sized at exactly 1GB and is downloaded one million times, that would add an extra $160,000 that Sony is now charging and that, according to publishing sources, Microsoft isn't. That's what could scare publishers from placing content on the PS3."

It's older and not completely accurate. The point about MS not charging is because those costs are being offloaded to the consumer via part of your Live subscription.

If Google Translator is to be believed, the new PS3 model supports PS2 backwards compatibility.

if true, the hell? Will they be able to sell an adapter or download or something so older PS3 models can play PS2 games?

I remember reading about Sony filing a patent for a hardware add-on for PS2 backward compatibility a while ago (which I would gladly buy for the right price). However, Sony later went on to say that they felt HD remakes were more viable than pursuing backwards compatibility because it would give money back to the developers.

So they'd rather make the game companies happier than their customers. Makes sense.

Already bought the games 5-6 years ago, why not give people the option. More would probably want the HD remakes but they're not making HD remakes for everything.

Did everyone sign up for the ID Theft coverage yet? I just realized I hadn't received my e-mail yet so I checked my spam folder and sure enough, it was there.

Just a reminder/heads up, you have to sign up by the 28th of this month.

This week is awful unless you're going for DLC or maybe the Bionic Commando: Rearmed game.

Also should have known F.E.A.R. 3 would have to be new for you to get all the MP modes out of the box...

And if that's not the case, FUCK Monolith for only have half of the MP modes available for the community they'd try to build with this game.
