Madden 11 Demo Impressions Thread

-overall, I like the game. I think it will be very enjoyable once it comes out and some good settings are discovered. I know im gunna end up playing the fuck out of it.

That's how I feel too.
I like NCAA a lot, but am just not a big NCAA fan.
I am jonesing big-time for Madden. I need teams and players I know.
But it sucks Madden doesn't have an online dynasty mode. I wanted to do what I'm doing with NCAA.

Played my second game, felt so much more user control by taking off Autospring and Autostrafe. Also tried out that GameFlow stuff...Undecided on that, but I kind of felt like I wasn't fully in control of the game because I wasn't picking the plays. The Strat Pad aint bad either.

You can always audible in Gameflow. I found myself doing that a bit.
When I get the game, I'm gonna use the game planning thing for sure.

changing madden to feel like ncaa was the dumbest thing they have ever done.

Madden was 95% polished last year after those patches. There was almost nothing wrong with the gameplay aspect of the game, while NCAA is total garbage. I played NCAA this year and if madden is the same thing like I'm hearing about I won't like madden this year.

lol, NCAA gameplay was garbage last year, while on the other hand Madden was great after the patches.

If it was so bad I would like for you to discuss what was bad about it.

I remember when the game first came out throwing to the RBs was flawed because it would work too much. They fixed it.

They also fixed DBs playing the flats.

Man Coverage was fixed and was very good last year after the patches.

NCAA gameplay this year is pretty damned good. Perfect? No.

Other than Locomotion, and even in that, I didn't think the games played identical to each other.

I'm so addicted to the Pistol, now. I miss my read option plays

Decided to dump Cassel in my third year of franchise and go with Alex Smith who was in the FA pool.. this dude can throw with some precision.. I've thrown these crazy passes with him where the ball barely skims the fingertips of the defender with perfect placement countless times.. I haven't had any issues yet with superleaping guys but I'm sure it's only a matter of time.. sideline and back of the endzone catches are phenomenal..

And the crowd was dead silent, like practice silent when nothings going on.

For one thing, ncaa has done a good job with capturing the atmosphere in the stadium. Like someone said, in madden, the crowd goes dead silent in between plays. Johnson is very over zealous and Chris is kind of dull and sounds like he is making a dragged out dramatic comment all the time.

Maybe it's just like that in the demo? I know they remove a ton of the audio files in the demos because they take up so much space.

But of course if they still have the commentating in there, I'm not so sure.

thats a great point. the retail version may have better audio.

the commentary isnt bad. Johnson is refreshing and new he is just a little to eager to make everything a big play. Collinsorrth isnt bad either.

Its better than the alternative thats for sure

I played the demo and it just seems to easy to score on offense I was playing on all madden and it seemed like everytime I ran the ball I got 5 yards easy and if my WR was in single coverage I could easily user my WR to get it if I threw it deep

Been playin this demo off and on all night...Already got the Strat pad down, workin on my user stick skills. Gunna be a good year.

Few quick things 1 quarter in.

I hate the fucking strategy pad. The shit is pointless and over complicates a system that wasnt broken.

The feel of the game is much better than 10. You have a lot more control.

The locomotion is nice!

Im glad I have the option to turn off auto sprint and use R2 when I feel like it.

CPU pass rush on AM is ridiculous. Ive dropped back about 25 times and have been hit in about a second on 23 plays. Nothing is open. I cant get used to the strategy pad on D with the ball being snapped so quick. SMH
