LOL. This is a thread about impressions and that was the biggest impression the demo had on me.

You might want to research what the term fanboy means clown. I obviously forgot that your opinion is the only one that counts.

And we all know the 360 Madden graphics and framerate will be smoother.
It may be "fine", but it isn't Madden. At least not for me.

Really? Becuase I thought they were identical last year so I can't imagine that would be any different this year. Especially since EA and Sony announced their new and improved "partnership" at E3. Now, Madden 09 is another story.

      They weren't identical last year.
I agree that the PS3/PS2 is the real Madden controller, but IMO, the 360 controller just feels right for guys like me (6'4") with big goofy hands.
The Ps3 controller is too small and light. I can deal with it, but if given a choice, I always prefer the 360 controller.

I suspect the improved "partnership" will never really bear fruit, because EA Sports has to deal with the 360's DVD size.

Imagine a day when EA Sports releases Tiger Woods golf with more courses on the PS3? Absolute revolution. Not gonna happen.

I prefer the 360 controller for many things, most notably shooters, but defiitely not sports games. Are you still using one of the old six-axis controllers? Those things do feel light and cheap but the dual shocks are solid.

I can't imagine it's going to turn out to be much either but I would hope that the versions of the games would at least be identical, as opposed to a few years ago when the PS3 versions of nearly every EA games was inferior in many ways.

I thought it was funny that they also said the same thing in the @Gamer magazine. It one of the side points in their Madden preview they were talking about how to determine which version to buy. They said "If you are a hardcore Madden guy there is no way you can even think of playing this game with anything but the PS3 controller." I agree. It's just engrained in my mind I guess.
lol. I love the 360 controller, it's the best imo.

I had the chance to play the demo yesterday at a friends house. I had only played NCAA once for a about 5 mins so the new player movements and how everything is was still fresh to me. Before I started a game I made sure I went in and set up my Gameplan. A lot of people are in a hurry to say GameFlow sucks when they don't even attempt to change the GamePlan. For the 1st down plays they had stupid plays set up, a lot of big play type plays for some reason. I changed every down to my liking and started the game. I used Gameflow the whole game offense and it worked well. I ended up winning 27-14 on All Pro as the Jets. As far the pad, it was weird at first, but I started getting use to it more and more in the 3rd qtr. That won't be a big of a deal. Everyone will master that shit in no time. I can see myself having a lot of fun with this game.

I'll have more impressions when I give it another go later on today.

What Hart said. By default it's on slow. Just speed it up bro.

For old men like me the speed was perfect.

I liked the demo. People said its a slower version of madden 10. I guess they didnt know you could change the speed of the gameplay. lol. But i like the locomotion, and you have to know how the team plays, to use them correctly. As the Jets, my run game was killing the Colts, and the D was they aggressive. I like the gameflow as well, for me when im too lazy to pick plays, i use it. Then change my play according to the other team. Havent played on All-madden yet, i hope they dont cheat and shit. But i like the demo, and i will be getting Madden 11

It's hilarious how everyone is complaining about the game being "too slow" when there's an option to change the game speed.

Normal feels like slow...and fast feels like very fast. They changed the speed of the game speed from last years version. Its no reason that ncaas normal speed should feel faster than Maddens Normal speed. hopefully the retail version isnt this way

                        They definitely cheat.

Them demo is set to slow, but Ian wrote on his twitter that the final version's default is normal.

NCAA football and pro football are two completely different games, I'd expect the game speeds to not be the exact same.

NFL is a faster game than NCAA in real life. Better athletes and its what rookies always say is the toughest to get used to is the speed of the game.

So its odd that NCAA plays faster on normal than Madden. But that's expecting EA to get things right.

Ill post my impressions of the demo. I am not going to buy madden this year for the first time in 10 years and I made that decision before the demo, so if I sound cynical, I am.

I only played 1 half, on pro, I was the Jets.

-The game feels exactly like NCAA. The only real difference was players in NCAA respond in a tackle animation with the r-stick more often than in Madden. Not necessarily a bad thing since NCAA can take it to the extreme.

-I tried to work with the strategy pad. It was just unnecessary. I only make about 1 change every 3 plays so it wouldnt aggravate me too much but I can see how it is a distraction.

-I like the new kicking style, can help differentiate good and bad kickers if done right.

-If you add pro-tak make every animation available to be a gang tackle. Having players bump into each other just because this animation isn't a pro tak animation kinda ruins the addition of pro tak at times.

-Im tired of the playbooks. I have been calling the same plays for 8 years now. NCAA revitalized theirs and I like that I can try new playbooks and see plays I have never seen before.

-I love the canned scenes but like NCAA Im sure it will get repetitive and I will just skip it, it is still nice. This is something MLB the Show has down.

-I feel like the past 3 years I have been playing the same game. Maybe and engine change to a physics based one like Fifa and NHL.

-Announcing/atmosphere has always been stale. It misses key plays, crowds, and in depth discussion is all rarely gotten right in sports games. I thought that maybe Gus could bring something new and exciting but I have never been blown away by sports games audio.

This demo didnt make me want Madden. It feels like NCAA with the fixes I hope NCAA will patch. So I am stickin with NCAA for my football fix.
