Heres why you need to play one even if its a poor 3rd person shooter now. The characters you meet and bond with and the entire environment around you change drastically from the first to the second. By skipping 1, your cheating yourself. You won't ever understand just how much impact Shepard had on the universe because of what he accomplished in the first game. You played Rogue Warrior for Christ sake. Play Mass Effect 1 you fucking whore.

thats a spoiler, but you are right. The entire 1st games story is badass. the council, the conflict becoming a septre the fighting between between the ambassador and captain. the choices may be in a comic in 2, but thats not going to allow you to play through the stories that went with those choices....and thats huge. Not to mention on of the most epic endings ever.

i only have a ps3 and dont enjoy pc gaming so it looks like i'll be playing Me2 without playing the first, ill read up on the story i guess.

i was kind of surprised by the section they chose for the demo. i guess they want to show how the action portions played out. But that area is not a great representation of this game imo
