It's also kind of lamely written for the most part. Particularly in comparison to the actual games.
I like the comic. It's a great add on in my opinion. For the 360, if you wanted to start a me2 with your old memory, that would be simple enough. But what if you wanted to change on thing, such as not killing the rachni? You'd have to play the whole game over. With the ps3 version, you just need to start the game over and change your picks in the comic.

But on the same turn, it's not something you really have to do much of.

There's no achievement, no gain, nothing, from mining everything.

There's probably enough available minerals in the whole game to do all your upgrades 10 times over.

Everytime I go to a solar system to do a mission, I'll just hit up the planets there and drop a couple probes, then move on. Really doesn't take long, but it's still not that exciting.

Then again, the increase of 3rd Person Action in to the franchise has made people forget this is still an RPG, and RPG's have down time with timesink's, it just comes with the genre in order for things to make more sense.

My main two guys, fuck yeah

Here are the 6 choices you can make in the comic:

Love: The mission comes first, Ash, Liara
Rachni: Save the queen, kill the queen
            Wrex: Save Wrex, Kill Wrex
            Squadmates: Save Kaiden, Save Ashley
            Council: Save Council, Sacrifice Council
            Spot: Captain Anderson, Politician Udina

            Bold are my choices

I have no doubt that the mining will get old but for right now, I'm happy that I don't have to sit through Ostagar, Lothering and a boring-ass Origin story (5+ hours) if I want to get going on a Bioware game.

I dig the planet descriptions as well... moreso if I get an Anomaly and I can find dudes to shoot in the face.

Now, I'm all for playing me1 (I did on the 360), but a streamlined comic would be an amazing idea for me3. I want to transfer my game from me2 over, but at the same time in me3, if I want to change one detail I would love to have the comic to watch to change that one detail.

And everyone ponders, "Why are A.I. so bad?" barring any playtime on ME1.

The shit is Dead Space with Robots if you have the lighting turned down low enough in a dark room.

Also, Glados from Portal makes a surprise visit once you turn the power back on... :scared:

EDIT: Upon further review, this is straight out of 2001: A Space Odyssey.

                        Stop pushing buttons, Dave.

It's a fair point, to a point. I just felt that it left out SO many decisions that you really get to see bear fruit either in large or small ways in ME2.

That said, one thing that occurred to me in thinking about the logistics of the comic is that it's somewhat clear based on the decisions the comic has you make what are the long standing decisions of the series. Things like the Asari that was green Asari that was possessed that you can either kill or let live, or how well you succeed while destroying the Krogan cloning plant....they might be brought up in 2, but the fact that they aren't in that comic make me think they clearly have no strong bearing on ME3. Does that make sense? My reasoning is that if they were THAT important they'd include them in the comic because clearly ME3 will be multiplatform.

For the most part, I think this is true.

Since EA and Bioware can't port ME1 to the PS3 (I would buy that shit as DLC so fast), the easier approach would be the main talking points from the comic and how they'd effect the story in ME2.

Any extra dialogue would simply be retconned as far as PS3 goes.

It does make it interesting to think that PS3 versions of DudeShep and FemShep will always be a little different than the 360 version.
