if youre a straight up mage, i hope you have an ice spell.

even as a warrior, i sneak around oblivion until i get caught to try and avoid getting overwhelmed by numbers. if it still isnt workin for ya, you can always turn down the difficulty
I chose a wood elf archer, but am almost out of steel arrows, only got 3 left.
At what point in the game did you all start deviating from the main quest? After the sewers? After the first Oblivion gate?

After the sewers, once you enter the world it's do whatever the fuck ya wanna do.

It's probably best to follow the main quest for the first hour or two, by doing so you'll stumble along some side quests and then your options open.

Visit the Mage Guild and Fighters Guild to join those and get those quest chains going. You can head to the Arena and start to compete there.

If you want to join the Dark Brotherhood...

Kill an innocent. You'll do it along your gameplay eventually so it'll happen naturally.

If you want to join the Thieves Guild...

Ask around, become friends with the poor in the Imperial City.

That should get you going in a few different directions. Just talk to people and you'll be on your way to all sorts of wacky shit.

Also go pick up them arrows homie. When you kill something, you can usually loot the same arrow off of that body. You can usually do it a few times before it breaks and u can't use it anymore.

BOSMER!! YEAH YEAH! That's what my level 16 character is. I haven't played Oblivion for at least a month, this thread is making me want to get back into it... Last I recall I had just finished the Knights of the Nine and told myself I wouldn't start Shivering Isles till I was at least level 15. THEN I finally get to do the Dark Brotherhood quests again.

I chose bosmer cause I'm saving my mage character for Skyrim, always have been a fan of archers in rpgs though

Yeah New Vegas pretty much sucked compared to FO3, imo. It was obvious Bethesda wasn't behind that game.

What exactly do you like about FO3 that makes it better than NV? I played NV first and now I'm about to play FO3. Just wondering.

I thought New Vegas had a more interesting story, I thought the factions were a great addition, companions were handled much better, the karma system was less black and white, the weapons and ammo systems had more depth.

The environment of FO3 was perhaps more interesting to explore outside of the goddamned tunnels, but I don't see how New Vegas was a worse game outside of the bugs (obviously). It isn't sequel-worthy by any means but the content of it as a stand alone game was great.

I liked the factions, companions, weapons and karma system better but to me the story wasn't as good, plus I'd much rather walk around the ruins of DC than Las Vegas. Plus the side quests were loads better in Fallout 3
