Anyone else get a Rohan vibe from that place?

If you need armor or weapons, I can't stress enough how great being able to use the forge is. Just buy your own supplies and make stuff rather than spending out the ass to buy it.
I agree with all that, recall seeing this place from the trailers and thinking Rohan. It's a very typical setting though I find, with having to put like 9 or so large settlements I'd have figured one would be in that layout.

I do also backup the crafting cause gold hasn't been too easy to come by considering the costs of buying things. I've spent a few G's on spells already...use nothing but magic and I'm loving it.

I really need to save up for a house too. I've had to leave some good stuff behind because I couldn't carry it.

I normally don't play non-sports games, but I admit that the hype around this game has me intrigued. I may rent from redbox to see what it's all about.

Yeah, I'm saving up for that now..but also want a horse too. Blah.

Just had another freeze during a battle (that I was gonna lose anyways) lol.

Gonna play straight off the disc instead of installed files as I've heard that's what Bethesda recommends for 360 right now.

I only got about 30-45 minutes in this morning. I'm not going to really have any time to play this until Sunday.

Skyrim Xbox 360 installation causes graphical issues; patch incoming

Since Microsoft began allowing installs on the Xbox 360, you may have gained the habit of making that your first step before starting to play any new title. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim hits stores today, and while it may be tempting to hit the Install button, you might be better served by waiting -- at least for now.

A post from Bethesda staff on the company's forums suggests that your game might look better without the install, due to the way it handles dynamic streaming of the textures.

"We've seen a few reports of certain textures temporarily scaling down on the Xbox 360, and not scaling back up," the post reads. "We have verified that this issue does not occur when playing off the disc and when the game is fully cached (not installed)." The post goes on to state that a title update is coming to fix the problem for those who install the game.

Having tested the differences, the game does seem to look better when running off the disc, but it also increases load times. Until the title update hits, you may have to choose which feature is more important to you. Speaking personally, my own review sessions were performed almost entirely with the game installed, and that clearly didn't make me think worse of it.

I figure since I'm new to the series I'd go with a warrior type character and keep it simple so I went Orc....if I play through it again I'll want to go as more of an archer/thief type.

Anyone know which console version this is better on? I know oblivion was better for 360.
