    game is just awesome........
i wish i had bought the game when it came out like the most of you. i have lots of catching up to do though.

faught Vokun for about 1.5 hours......
what a pain in the ass fight that was at level 5

was just at Solitude and good thing i saved before getting there. i got caught trying to steal something and had the whole town trying to kill me

so - i had to back track/load older save and just walked into town to Join the Legion of Companions....

it really is like the World of Warcraft on consoles. Mages, Night Elfs, Wood Elfs, Casting Desctruction, Spells, Healing.......
    very very nice!!!

Is 50 the max level you can reach?

That's what I read. You can keep improving skills but you don't actual level and get perks beyond that.

I hope not because I've put in to much time into my character to start over because early on I was putting perks into random things.

At higher levels, leveling up happens much more slowly, however there is no discrete change upon reaching level 50. Level increases in Skyrim follow a formula (detailed above in the Gaining Levels section). The maximum level is level 81 and is reached by increasing all skills to 100. With every skill mastered, the level progress meter will rest a little over halfway to '82', meaning it is not necessary to master every skill to achieve Level 81.

One implication of the leveling system is that although it is possible to create a character with 100 in all skills, it is not possible for one character to unlock all skill perks, unless a console command is used (player.addperk). In such a case, one may unlock every perk available, even at level 1. There are 251 total skill perks (including multi-point perks), but only around 80 of them can be unlocked by any given character.

I can achieve my ideal character with 80. I want to max out heavy armor, one handed, and destruction for sure.

                  That's relieving to read, actually.

My current character will be maxed out and perked-up in Archery, Light Armor, Sneaking, and probably Conjuration. I'm sure I'll max out in Smithing, Speechcraft, One-Handed, and Enchanting but don't know that I'll go for all the perks.

i honestly dont find the perks to be all that great. there is nothing in there that says WOW i gotta have that. The main perks that have excited me are the ones that make things cost less to cast or make u regenerate health faster. its been all conjuration, destruction, and speech...i put a small amount in to restore and archer....and i would like to improve on some of the smithing stuff

I'm playing on Master and I'm trying to get myself established in the Mage Guild and the Companions before I turn the dragons loose. I am playing extremely thorough, crafting all my armor, improving it, then enchanting it. I am wary due to previous Elder Scrolls games making your shit disappear unless you actually own the house. do you guys know of any areas I can use as a safe stash until I get around to buying a house?
i have posted at this a few times...but it clearly states right in the manual that if you dont own the house then it will not be there when you come back.

i dont know what u mean by establishing yourself in the mage guild....but all u need to do is join them to get a free room that you will own to store shit. They give it to you by simply asking to join

Unlocking the animation to behead enemies is epic.

I haven't found any single perk yet that was game-changing. But when you chain a few together, they certainly make a big difference. The combination of sneaking and archery was fun right from the start, but once I gained some levels in those two and grabbed a few of the perks, its a much more effective and fun approach.

different story line and much better than WoW.

WoW had a good stretch but became drawn out and boring with redundancy.

                            Sneaking, Lockpicking, One Handed
                            Light Armor, Destruction, Pickpockting

= only skills I pay attention to.

Who needs to learn skills like Enchanting, Smithing, etc when you just steal from everyone anyway. Should have probably focused on Illusion instead of Destruction though.
