im thinking about picking this up. i cant find a deal though. sounds like a good one, but i dont want to spend $60 and get burned by another EA Sports title

The Collector's Edition has 19 courses, if I'm not mistaken.
The eagle pack added the others.
I went through all the courses just to count them. Like I said, 34 (but 35 with the Augusta Par 3).

So I got my golfer in the 70's as far as skill goes...shot a 55 the other day on a tourney, decided to up my skill level.

Started playing on TOUR Pro at the UK Open (St. Andrews), son of a bitch I hate that course. Shot a 69 the first two rounds, but made it my bitch the second day with a 64 (-8). -14 overall, and I have an eight stroke lead headed into the final day.

TOUR Pro is ridiculous hard. No spin and boost doesn't bother me, no putt preview is a little difficult, but what really gets me is how unforgiving the hooks/slices are. Jesus Christ, if you're just a LITTLE off it goes into the next county.

i am using tour pro and low scores. on my 1st tourney i am in 1st place. im +2 but im still winning. should the scoring be set on something other than low?

Low should have the majority of the field shooting in the mid 60s, and the leaders pulling low 60s. I'd say give it a little time, see if it's just the hard ass course.

I turned into Rory McIlroy on the final day. Shot a fucking 81 (+9) on the final day, lost by four strokes. Two double bogeys on the front nine, and a six putt and triple bogey in the final three holes. FML.

Can't wait until this season is over so I can bring the tourneys down to three days.

it was the very 1st tourney. i won it to get into the amateur tour with a +2. maybe all the other guys sucked worse than me. next tourney was in the AT and i posted a +6 but the scores were still in the even to -1 range

its playing tough...or rather inconsistent. i hit a perfect swing and the ball goes way left/right of the mark. Also seems like if i use a custom shot that the results will be very random. maybe its just cause my ratings are so low right now

Ah, well then I would chalk that up to the skill level of the competition.

I agree, I can't really get a handle on the shot mechanics either. I'm pretty sure that yellow line means dick all. It can be way left and go straight, or be perfectly straight and I'll hook it right into the woods. I have found that using focus helps tremendously though.
