Apparently, the PS3 version is going to be shown off tonight on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

DICE’s Battlefield 3 had an incredible showing at last week’s E3, racking up over 30 award nominations. But for many shooter fans, one question remained — “Where’s the console version?” Well, tonight those questions are answered as DICE’s own Johan Dohl stops by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to give Jimmy the first hands on with Battlefield 3 for PS3. Be sure to set those TIVO’s, and for more information on Battlefield 3 be sure to watch our interview with Patrick Bach, Executive Producer on Battlefield 3 below.

One more thing! If you missed the news at PlayStation’s E3 2011 Press Conference, the PS3 version of Battlefield 3 will include the full version of Battlefield 1943 on the Blu-ray disc — an exclusive bonus just for PS3 owners.

EDIT: The Physical Warfare Pack that Europe is getting with pre-orders will be released free to everyone "later this year".

Still looks decent, I was worried it would be a huge step down from how it looks on a kick ass PC

I need to see a better video. On that one it look the same as previous shooters. The PC video had a little something else that gave it that real WOW factor.....need more info.

I don't think it's any surprise that the PC version is capable of much better graphics than the console versions based on hardware alone, but you also have to remember that the PC and console versions are being developed on different variants of the Frostbite 2 engine that are supposed to optimize performance for the two platforms.

So I'm guessing the PS3 version is the lead console SKU? Why else would they show that version on national TV? I was getting that version anyway but that would be great news.

Probably because of that partnership that EA and Sony announced last E3.

That probably has a little to do with it but I think moreso, over the last year or so, most developers have been developing on PS3 first and porting to 360 because it's easier that way.

So they still haven't added any preorders for BF3 on steam yet...

If I have to use that p.o.s. EA online system again I'm just going to store and getting the disk version.

                    Leafs offseason training!

I'd rather think I'm supporting Dice more then EA.

Havent seen it on here yet, sowwy if already posted.

360 and PS3 are going to be running at 30 fps. While the CPU will be at 60.

@Fadiclarke no we always do 30 fps on consoles, not possible to fit in vehicles, fx, scale and all players otherwise

CPU will be basically unlimited. They had the same thing in BF2 but it could be unlocked pretty easy by a command in the console.

You need a monitor that is 120 hz to see the benefit of anything past 60 FPS. Correct?

I believe so. And even then you would have to be Superman to notice the difference.
