This happened to me in an EASHL game. If you bump the goalie hard enough it will come up as you initiating a fight and then the douches on the other team can fight you if they want.

I just experienced 2 flaws at once. I got hip checked without the puck into their goalie and got an interference. I feel I got trolled.

These late hits and hip checks are extreme man.

Yeah the hip check thing is kind of insane. I hope a patch fixes it because me, as a 5"11' and 187lbs, and a hitting rating of defalt 40 (Sniper) will just use hip check all game instead of trying to hit people for real.
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

I play defense and I don't hip check. I played another team that would only hip check and it was annoying. I <3 defense though. They need to fix the turnovers thing though. I am typically the guy who dumps the puck and every time I do I get a turnover.

I don't have a team so I play drop-in and I have to say that defenders online are so stupid. They don't stay on their side (same can be said about any position online...) and they don't know what the blue line is. They just hang in front of the goalie before they get to our blue line. I finally had a teammate who could actually play fundamental defense and they barely got passed our blue line.

It's hard to get points, assists, or good stats as a defender in this game (kind of same with real life, don't think there's an accurate stat to rate a defender) so I typically will sacrifice a pokecheck and hit the guy instead lol. Looks better on the highlights and stats. I should probably stop doing that and know when do to each one.

Yeah this is really annoying. I'm getting credited for like 7 turnovers a game cause of it.

It is a turnover, that is why it counts. When your team doesn't get the puck, you basically gave it to them. How are you dumping it in? If you are slapping it in, you're doing it wrong. Flip dump is best. Thing is, the defence needs to tell the forwards what is happening. It sucks with drop in games and guys without mics, but be vocal. If you have the puck and are coming up the ice, before you hit the red line tell the forwards you are dumping it in.

With the game only being a few days old, people don't have insane speed or hitting, so getting to the puck is a challenge. Forwards need a running start. If I'm sitting on the blue line waiting for you to do something and you dump it in, I have to start skating and by then, I'm fucked. So just be vocal about it, or move the puck up quickly and avoid the turnover.

If you are playing drop in games on defence, don't ever worry about points. It useless as all fuck. Because guys in OTP games only care about themselves and don't use the defence. EASHL, defence get used because you get guys who understand the importance of defence and setting up a play. I don't know how many times we'll play and same thing. Killgod up to me on the wing, drop back to KG on point. From there he can shoot, back down to me, to slot, to other defender.

Points will come when you play with the right people.

                Techincally it is, yes.

How I dump it depends on the situation and location. I find that I get a lot of lucky bounces doing slaps, even if it's wrong.

Also every drop-in I've played my team didn't have mics so yeah.

Agreed. When you're able to be vocal it's great. I had a team that had great chemistry yesterday. We were actually cycling the puck. Typically when a forward is on the rush he tries to go on his respective side, take a shot, dangle around and take a shot, or do a one timer/cross crease. I found a lot more success in getting in the zone, slowing down, and letting something develop. People just try to take a shot on the rush too much.

Yeah, points aren't a big deal. I don't get recognition but I wouldn't anyway even if I played forward; People are greedy bastards.

I see most defenders trying to snipe all the time with their slappers from the point. The success rate of that is very, very low. I always aim low for the pads for a rebound. In this game I think rebounds are a lot more successful than anything else, at least this far into the year. When I actually do play forward I'm typically playing in front of the goalie and a lot of people leave that open and just chase wherever the puck goes. People's defensive fundamentals are a crack on EASHL.

I really wish goalie in BAP mode was better. If u give up one goal in a period u get a F for stats for that period.

LA Kings 3 (ravin) - San Jose Sharks 2 OT

Played this guy today and my fuck, I swear he was either pressed up against the TV or had the volumn as high as it could go, because I could hear the announcer calling his game through my TV speakers. I could hear him saying shit, and then the announcer going on. I injured Brent Burns with a slap shot and heard through his TV that he wasn't coming back into the game. lol

I did the sickest deke with Mikki Koivu today. One handed deke passed two defenders near the boards, fetch the loose puck, and go for a breakaway. Dude then hooks me. Get a shootout and did another sick deke. Guy quit and now I don't get to save it . Effin hate that.

I'm lovin' being a power forward right now. And that's just in random OTP games. It'll be even more awesome when I join a club so my camping out in front of the net can get me some screened goals and deflections and shit rather than just cleaning up the garbage right now.

Ok, I am going to nip this now because it is pissing me off.

Will all you guys who think you are the next Holmstrom, get the fuck out of the way.

I swear to god, I have had more goals blocked because everyone now wants to play in the front of the net. I can't tell you how many point shots our defence has sent on net, only for some fat ass who thinks he can deflect it gets in the way.

It has a time and a place for it, but not every single time on every single rush to the net. This isn't just pointing out to you lanteri, but it is beyond frustrating when 2 of your 3 forwards decide they want to be net parkers, and you miss out on like 3-4 goals a game. I made the point before that this is not NHL11, and just crashing the net doesn't work, and no it is not proper hockey to just enter the zone and head straight for the net. Our centremen who plays with us is great for this because he is useless as all fuck. Goes for the net and stops, while his wingers need a place to pass off to quickly. So rather then go behind the net, go to the corner, or the slot for a pass, they sit in front. It does nothing. Plus just because you are in front, doesn't mean when the puck goes to your side you don't go and get it.

I can vouch for this. I always aim for the pads when I take slapshots as a defender and I can't tell you how many times I've pegged a teammate. You'll get 10x more goals with your wingers on the sides and/or your center behind the net.

Can't tell you how frustrating it is being a winger or center playing drop-in games. They try to either be a hero, jump the blue line, or try to do some fancy-ass pass when defenders always stuff it.
