I'm thinking about grabbing this..bought 10, and I've been playing that pretty consistently since it came out. Never got 11.

Alright, I'm done for the year. Game was fun, but I'll just quit while ahead.

All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

        "rammer" and "cummings"

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.

I didn't do EASHL and need to know more about it before I jump in. I know all the stat whores who would always be 2 way forwards or defensemen and that speed/acceleration did nothing last year.

On another note, I love this game so far. Having a blast. 5-0 in online Versus.

How to score in EASHL: take the puck in the corner and either drive out in front of the net and shoot far post or make a hard cross crease pass. That's pretty much the only goal I've seen, plus there have been a TON of goalie interference calls.

There has already been a bunch of talk of what EASHL is. It is basically the bread and butter of this game. Put it this way, yesturday myself and leaf played about 17-20 games each on EASHL. The only other game I played was Winter Classic because Xbox live was down.

I'm a sniper, not a two way forward. Always have been, except for the one year of the dangler where I split. Speed and all the attributes seem to mean something this year, because for now, I notice a difference. You can tell the diffeence between a 5"11', 187lbs player and a 6"3', 210lbs player.

As I've said before, I haven't even played a 1v1 game yet outside of the Winter classic. I may get some games in today against people if they want to run some 1v1, but basically it is EASHL.

I'm not lying when I say, shoot the puck. The first 5 games, I played like NHL 11. It doesn't work. I find you have to basically give up everything you did in that game and try new. With that said, I've been ripping goals from the slot with wrist shots, and our team has scored a fuck of a lot of different goals. Tips, wrists, slap shots, yeah some cross crease, but if it is the option, thats what you do. None of that gay ccome from the corner shit.

Also if you don't have human defence, good luck. Because I find when I skate into the zone, the option to drop back to the point was never there because the AI is so dumb. As soon as human player was in, so many options open up.

One thing I noticed that is an "NHL11" thing is, when I come in along the boards, the first thought for the other two forwards is to charge the net, as crosse crease passes were tape to tape and rarely got picked off. You can't do that this year, you need to look ahead of your pass. Sometimes now, the best option is to shoot, because defence awarness matters, and if you are coming down 2 on 1, and the defence has the lane covered, passing the puck is worthless. Yeah you will hear people saying to pass, and it works sometimes. But over the course of yesturday I found we gave the puck up more times trying for that cross pass, where a shot would have been better. It is why I got my wirst shot up to 85 on each, and looking for 90's so I can rip them.

The other thing is to move the puck. Get the cycle going, because as soon as you do that, you get open shots easily. The puck is so live now, it is hard to get things on net. Once you start moving it around, things open up.

So basically you are taking your created player, and just jumping in EASHL games? by yourself and the cpu puts you with random other human players or playing with your friends/club? Just wodnering how to get some eashal games in if my friends aren't around.

You don't. EASHL is just with your team. If you are by yourself, and no teammates, you can either go into your EASHL club and hit "drop in game" which puts you in a game, or go to 'Game Modes' and goto "Online Team Play". OTP will then put you with anyone else looking for a game. You pick a side, press A, then its basically a race to get the position you want. Then you start.

Issue with OTP is, people don't give a fuck. People will puck hog, not pass, take stupid shots and penalties, and if you get a goalie on your team, you'll just rage because majority of people who play goalie suck balls at it. It is why a lot of people don't play OTP because it is a waste of time. I played 2 OTP games yesturday, and got stuck with human goalie on both. Waste of time.

So yeah, your best bet, get friends to all play together, and when they are not on, either play offline, or try out your OTP stuff.

I'll be on for some EASHL or 1v1 around 3:30-4 if anyone is down.

Yeah we're still having some trouble scoring goals but we've just started putting the puck on net and crashing.

If I do drop in games or online team play, will that give me some experience points or attribute points to add to my player? That's what you need in the beginning right? get your player better, until everyone is around the 80s overall or whatever.

Haven't even started anything yet, just want to see what I'm getting into when I get the game. I played the early release season ticket game just regular online mode. Haven't had a chance to buy the retail copy yet just too busy.
