Yup, what KG said. It's just a placeholder. Unfortunately I think March is probably going to be the most realistic. Just based on Jack Tretton's comments with Keighly after the E3 conference would lead me to believe that is the case.
As far as a business stand point I think they could seriously be missing the boat if they want to compete with the 3DS and they don't release until March. The 3Ds isn't selling that well and now is the time to pounce. the price point is perfect to slay the Nintendo "dragon" but if they miss the holiday season they might be screwed.
I'm not saying they should rush the thing but they might be dead in the water with a March release.
