Gotta wait till March for this. Definitely gonna pick it up though, the graphics look excellent, and I won't be able to bring my PS3 to college so this will be a nice alternative.

Looks like there is going to be a Resistance title for the Vita. Sony just announced it. Resistance: Burning Skies.

I was thinking about how the price of the PSV was great until now that the 3DS is only $170. I'm not talking about hardcore gamers who were going to get one but parents. If you give them a choice between 170 or 250, they are going to get the cheaper one. Especially now that a PS3 is the same price, this creates cannibalism of the Sony brand. Looks like both Sony & Nintendo are going to lose out with both of these handhelds.

I wouldn't worry too much about the 3DS vs Vita because they are two completely different devices. But you're right, parents won't know the difference. I think the pricing being the same for both the Vita and PS3 is the bigger issue. But with the tech in the Vita and being able to play near PS3 level games on the go it's definitely worth the price.

I barely play my PSP because I can't find much of an excuse to use handhelds anymore...but holy balls this is really enticing. This thing looks more amazing every time I read something new about it.

I'm probably in the minority but I play my handhelds quite a bit. Mostly during sever downtime at work, ie, bail hearing, hospital details, etc. Especially when it's something new like my 3DS. But I have a feeling this Vita might be stealing away time from my consoles. It looks that good.

Was just announced that the Vita will ship in Japan on December 17th. Still waiting for word on the US date. But hopefully this gives us some sort of window for when we'll get it.

At their Tokyo Game Show press conference, Sony announced the release date of the PlayStation Vita would be December 17, 2011 in Japan.

One of the GI guys at the Sony press conference says it looks like 26 titles will be available at launch and that he'd post them once the Sony presser is over.
