lag has never been an issue for me online. i dont think its a big issue for most online guys here. the online issue people bitch about from last year was the pain in the ass hitting. it was just off....even if you made the perfect swing balls would just be a and slow roller out or whatever. hitting in general was just made to be very difficult and people were very annoyed by that
i am looking forward to using ubaldo jiminez. i didnt get to use him last year cause i stopped playing before we got him....but man, he is crazy good. i was topping out at 100 mph with himComment

MLB The Show ........... early thoughts
After about three hours of game time I like the "newness" of this old title. There are definitely some subtle changes here that the avid SHOW player will see and enjoy.
"Pulse" pitching is not a subtle change, but it is a wake up call of sorts for some who dominated on the mound last year. Last year's version (especially online) had exceptionally low ERA's and even lower BA's. Pitchers will have their work cut out for them this year with the PULSE pitching. I'm not saying you won't be able to master it, but there is very little room for error.
Hitting simply feels different to me this round. I have read that it feels "heavy" to some. In the few games I have played I really needed to make solid contact to get any kind of drive into the ball. Lacing a ball into the gap or down the line seems more difficult this time around. Yet, SCEA has made it easier to make contact with the ball. In my three online attempts last evening I was NOT striking out near as much as I was with last year's version. I have a tendency to use the circle (contact) button once I get down to two strkes in the count. To me there seems to be a much bigger difference in using the circle (contact) vs the X (regular swing) button in The Show 12. Maybe it's me, but I am loving that you are making more contact but must really earn those solid hits. It is awfully early to know for certain.
The new cut scenes are fantastic. The little shots of the pitcher after a bad ball/strike call or maybe a walk. New stuff my friends. I even like the camera shots of following a foul ball off the bat back to the screen. I am pissed they took away the "L" screen during batting practice! Why? I have seen more high choppers than I have ever seen before. The ball actually gets past the pitcher on a scorcher back to the mound! The 1B can more quickly get out of his animation on a putout and throw to another base. (huge against online CHEESE)
More to come!"Pulse Pitching" is my BITCH!

That is one thing I don't like about it. The highest I got with Verlander was 96 and that was with the circle being small. I figured accuracy would tie into but it doesn't seem to enough.
I know Verlander can throw 100 easily, especially later in games. I didn't see this but I only played one game with him too.

With the pulse pitching, it feels like you have to develop a natural instinct to time it. When I sit there and stare at it, I just fall into a trance and never hit my mark. So if I'm not going to hit my mark, might as well just mash X to get through it, just hoping to randomly "get a good bounce". I'll stick with the pulse pitching for now because it's not terrible and I can see the potential in being able to use it properly.Comment
