I was only two games into my Rays 'chise, so I am gonna say "fuck it" and DL these bad boys and start a new 'chise.

I heard they even updated some of the new contracts (Cain & Votto)

My RTTS SP is now 9-0 with 59 K's, .82 WHIP and a 1.74 ERA over 62 IP.

          Holy shit I fucking blow.

Got all the bull shit system updates done on the PS3 and started a game, Brewers vs Cardinals with straight out of the box settings. Chris Carpenter owned my soul, 7.2 innings 10 strikeouts. I had four hits the entire game, and managed to win 3-2, not sure how. Greinke had my first hit of the game, a liner to LF in the third. Then I hit a HR with Mat Gamel, but Greinke immediately gave the run back. Fast forward to the eighth, I'm down 2-1, Alex Gonzalez hits a ground rule double to get Carpenter out of the game, and I pinch hit with George Kottaras who hits the go ahead home run.

After that I started a road to the show dynasty. Made a speedy CFer, basically a white Carlos Gomez. I think I have about 60 at bats so far, striking out about 40% of the time, and batting about .110. Like I said, a white Carlos Gomez.

I also tried experimenting with the different pitching and batting controls. What's the preferred method here? I tried the meter pitching and found it impossible to get the timing down. Suggest sliders/settings please.

They are out but some of the potentials are laughably off from what i am reading. I will be back home tomorrow from this business trip and will take a look.

I use zone hitting and button fielding. As for settings, whenever I play v the CPU I use vet hitting and All Star pitching.

They definitely took liberties with the ratings when they updated the rosters. I hate to sound like a homer, but, the stock rosters really shafted the Rays, and the OSFM rosters are giving them the shaft as well. James Shields is vastly underrated IMVHO in the roster set.

any word on the work around for the lineups and rotations being completely altered after spring training?

i advanced to the regular season after skipping ST and it looks like the same issues still arise. Shin Soo Choo batting lead off....tons of stuff like that and i didnt feel like adjusting things. if i have to do that then i will have to wait until opening day is done so i can see what every team lineup is

Before ST the Tigers had Martinez off every lineup and Smyly as the 5th starter. I sim ST and Martinez is in the lineup and Smyly is back in the AAA. I said fuck it too and continued on.

I don't know how many times I've had a pitch up in the zone and hit it with perfect timing just to pop up a laugher because the zone the CPU picked was retarded.

This is the first year I've used the zone hitting method and I think it's a lot more consistent.
The problem with timing is that it takes the players ratings into account only. Meaning, even if you have perfect timing, your player may not do shit with the pitch if he has low ratings.

I prefer analog or timing. I have gone back and forth. At times, I feel like the analog is too sensitive which alters your ability to make solid contact. Zone may be the way to go for me this year.

To fight that there is another roster coming out that only has 25 men on the 40 man roster. Basically after ST the CPU auto corrects the lineups etc based on who is on the 40 man. Been an issue for years.

Also, Leaf, they didn't touch the MLB player ratings

If they didn't touch the ratings then my bad. I just noticed that the Rays overall rankings fluctuated from the standard rosters, but, that may also be due to the adding of players, etc.

That has to do with adding and releasing players. Also the only ratings they did/should have touched were the MiLB guys.

If you wanted to stay true to the start of the real life season and guys starting the season on the disabled list, one of those guys over there usually puts out a full list of players starting the season on the DL. You can actually go in and add those injuries without full 30 team control.
